On 16 May 04 Deputy Sheriff Kapple issued a citation
to Michael V. Albert, age 19, 306 Elm Street, Marietta, for
traveling 74 mph in a 50 mph zone. Deputy Kapple stopped Mr.
Albert on US 50 near Braun Road in Belpre.
On 16 May 04 Jason W. Ross, age 23, 4245 Cats
Creek Road, Macksburg, reported the mother of his four year
old daughter failed to return the child after a visit, pursuant
to a custody agreement. This case remains under investigation
(592).
On 16 May 04 Thomas Barker, age 33, PO Box 101,
Marietta, reported between 14 and 16 May, an IBM laptop computer,
six DVD’s, a computer game and software were stolen from
his tractor trailer parked on County Road 10 in Marietta. This
case remains under investigation (1090).
On 16 May 04 Sgt. Underwood and Deputy Sheriff
Gherke were dispatched to the home of Teri M. Lee, age 31, 11535
State Route 821, Lower Salem, in response to a domestic violence
complaint. Ms. Lee stated during a discussion her live-in boyfriend
Steven P. Wagner, age 34, became angry punched her several times
with a closed fist. An investigation confirmed the account of
Ms. Lee and as a result Mr. Wagner was arrested for domestic
violence and transported to the Washington County Jail.
On 16 May 04 Deputy Sheriff Norman issued a citation
to Misty D. Simco, age 35, 115 Cornerstone Drive, Marietta,
for traveling 50 mph in a 35 mph zone. Deputy Norman stopped
Ms. Simco on Millers Lane near Brandy Drive in Marietta Township.
On 16 May 04 Sgt. Underwood issued a citation
to Christopher M. Campbell Jr., age 21, 9001 Portage Point Drive,
Streetsboro, OH, for traveling 72 mph in a 55 mph zone. Sgt.
Underwood stopped Mr. Campbell on State Route 7 near Asphalt
Maintenance in WarrenTownship.
On 16 May 04 Opal M. McFall, age 77, 823 Grandview
Avenue, New Matamoras, reported a family member may have stolen
and forged several of her checks since 23 Apr 04. This case
remains under investigation (500).
On 16 May 04 Deputy Sheriff Brown responded to
the report of a fight in the parking lot of Sierra Apartment
at 836 Pike Street, Marietta. Kelly Johnson, age 19, 410 Fearing
Street, Marietta, stated she was engaged in a fight with an
intoxicated Cynthia R. Sparks, age 34, 836 Pike Street. Deputy
Brown surmised both females initiated the fight and after falling
to the ground, Ms. Sparks left on foot. Both females were arrested,
transported to the Washington County Jail and released on a
personal recognizance bonds.
On 16 May 04 Deputy Sheriff Jenkins initiated
a traffic stop after observing a vehicle traveling on Gilman,
near Washington Street with one functioning headlight. Suspicious
at the odor of alcohol in the truck, Deputy Jenkins requested
Scott L. Cooper, age 33, 1117 Lancaster Street, Marietta, submit
to a field sobriety test, on which he performed poorly. Consequently
Mr. Cooper was issued a citation for one headlight, arrested
for OVI and transported to the Washington County Jail where
he was released on a personal recognizance bond.
On 16 May 04 Allen R. Goff, age 47, 60 Hannah
Place, Belpre, reported his son Bradley, age 22, became belligerent
and grabbed him by the arms, causing bruising. On account of
Bradley fleeing the scene, Deputy Sheriff Kapple requested a
warrant for his arrest.
The following individuals
were processed into the Washington County Jail:
Douglas Eugene Brookover, age 49, 623 Front Street,
Marietta, for failure to appear, a misdemeanor. Brookover was
arrested in Marietta by Patrolman Blasko of the Marietta City
Police Department and processed into the Washington County Jail
on 16 May 04 at 12:55 am.
Michael Bryan Burkley, age 20, 5676 Broadview
Road Bldg. 1 Apt. 109, Parma, OH, for underage consumption and
for having an open container, both misdemeanors. Burkley was
arrested on State Route 7 by the Ohio State Highway Patrol and
processed into the Washington County Jail on 16 May 04 at 1:10
am.
Robert Thomas Lanese III, age 18, 4510 Fruitland
Drive, Parma, OH, for underage consumption and for possession
of drugs, both misdemeanors. Lanese was arrested on State Route
7 by the Ohio State Highway Patrol and processed into the Washington
County Jail on 16 May 04 at 1:10 am.
Walter Thomas Buczak, age 18, 5598 Beacon Hill,
Seven Hills, OH, for OVI, speeding, underage consumption and
for possession of drugs, all misdemeanors. Buczak was arrested
on State Route 7 by the Ohio State Highway Patrol and processed
into the Washington County Jail on 16 May 04 at 1:20 am.
Jennifer Lee Grimes, age 30, 121 Wells Avenue,
Marietta, for driving under suspension and for operating an
unsafe vehicle, both misdemeanors. Grimes was arrested in New
Matamoras by Officer Jones of the New Matamoras Police Department
and processed into the Washington County Jail on 16 May 04 at
2:15 am.
Kelly Lynn Johnson, age 19, 410 Fearing Street,
Marietta, for disorderly conduct by fighting, a misdemeanor.
Johnson was arrested at Sierra Apartments by Deputy Sheriff
Brown and processed into the Washington County Jail on 16 May
04 at 4:20 am.
Cynthia Renea Parks, age 34, 836 Pike Street Apt.
24, Marietta, for disorderly conduct by fighting and by intoxication,
both misdemeanors. Parks was arrested at Sierra Apartments by
Deputy Sheriff Brown and processed into the Washington County
Jail on 16 May 04 at 4:20 am.
Scott Leslie Cooper, age 33, 1117 Lancaster Street,
Marietta, for .08 breath OVI and for having a faulty headlight,
both misdemeanors. Cooper was arrested on Gilman Street by Deputy
Sheriff Jenkins and processed into the Washington County Jail
on 16 May 04 at 5:40 am.
James Christopher Brumley, age 18, 619 Tenth Street
Apt. A, Marietta, for a felony charge of aggravated burglary
and a misdemeanor charge of domestic violence. Brumley was arrested
in Marietta by Patrolman Mitchell of the Marietta City Police
Department and processed into the Washington County Jail on
16 May 04 at 11:17 pm.
Steven Paul Wagner, age 34, 11535 State Route
821, Lower Salem, for domestic violence, a misdemeanor. Wagner
was arrested at his residence by Deputy Sheriff Gherke and processed
into the Washington County Jail on 16 May 04 at 11:55 pm.
