On 13 May 04 two employees of the Tri-County Rural
Water and Sewer District reported while they attempted to perform
maintenance on a water tower on County Road 60 in Waterford,
an adjacent property’s owner approached the men, began
cursing and threatened to damage their equipment. An investigation
resulted in charges being filed against Thaddeus A. Heiss, age
41, 295 Offenberger Lane, Lowell, for menacing.
On 13 May 04, members of the Sheriff’s Office
Detective Bureau began an investigation into the death of a
forty-three year old Marietta resident. No suspicious circumstances
were noted and the death appears to be from natural causes.
On 13 May 04 Ken Miller, age 31, 307 Maple Street,
Marietta, reported, within the last month, the awning off his
camper was stolen while parked at 1847 Sand Hill Road. This
case remains under investigation (1203).
On 13 May 04 Lt. Huffer located two juveniles
previously reported as runaways. As a sixteen year old was being
processed into the Washington County Juvenile Center, a baggie
containing a small quantity of marijuana was found in his shoe.
Accordingly, Lt. Huffer requested a summons for the juvenile
to appear in Juvenile Court for being delinquent.
On 13 May 04 Detective Sirianni investigated an
accidental shooting in Coal Run. The twenty-six year old stated
he was shooting at an opossum and inadvertently shot himself
in the foot. Called to the scene, the victim’s brother
transported him to Marietta Memorial Hospital for treatment.
This case remains under investigation.
On 13 May 04 Deputy Sheriff Stackpole issued a
citation to Adam T. Mazzella, age 20, 7239 River Road, North
Olmstead, OH, for traveling 78 mph in a 50 mph zone. Deputy
Stackpole stopped Mr. Mazzella on US 50 near Braun Road in Blennerhassett
Township.
On 13 May 04 Deputy Sheriff Kapple initiated a
traffic stop on Sealy Ridge Road near County Road 30 in Dunham
Township after noticing the turn signal of the vehicle he has
following appeared to be stuck in the on position. In the process
of informing the driver, William L. Schofield, age 42, 2837
Blennerhassett Avenue, Belpre, of the defect, Deputy Kapple
learned Mr. Schofield was driving under a suspended license
and issued a citation.
THE SHERIFF'S OFFICE RECEIVED
THE FOLLOWING WARRANTS:
Russell A. Strahler, age 42, 1001 Colonial Drive
Apt. C1, Marietta, for violating the terms of his probation
by failing to appear at an appointment with his probation officer
and for failing to show proof of completion of counseling as
ordered by the court.
Ulysses E. Wells, age 24, 737 Mary Street, Belpre,
for contempt for failing to appear at a court ordered hearing
on unpaid fines in the sum of $159.
Matthew J. Iman, age 37, 986 Coon Run Road, Lower
Salem, for contempt for failing to appear at a court ordered
hearing on unpaid fines in the sum of $90.
Teddy L. Wojcik, age 21, 123 Elmer Avenue, Wheeling,
WV, for driving under suspension and for failing to display
a valid registration.
Eric S. Lightfritz, age 22, Route 2 Box 194, Marietta,
for failing to appear in court for a change of plea resulting
in a charge of breach of recognizance.
Guy E. Morris, age 20, 923 Swann Street, Parkersburg,
for failing to appear to serve one day and two days in jail
on 30 Apr 04.
Misty D. Schultz, a.k.a. Misty Swaim, a.k.a. Misty
Colliton, 180 West Jennison Avenue, Logan, OH, for failing to
appear to serve three days in jail on 3 May 04.
Marcus A. Henderson, age 24, 1107 32nd Avenue
Apt. 4, Parkersburg, for contempt for failing to appear at a
court ordered hearing on unpaid fines in the sum of $507.
Richard E. Thompson, age 40, 206 Sheldon Avenue,
Marietta, for two counts of menacing, as charged by Deputy Sheriff
Mankins on 5 May 04.
Stacy V. Warfield, age 33, 3664 Coolville Station
Road, Coolville, for passing a bad check to Napoli’s Pizza
on 15 May 03.
Daniel D. Gaughan, age 37, Pennock Trailer Court
Lot 25, Beverly, for telephone harassment, as charged by Deputy
Sheriff Norman on 4 May 04.
Caleb W. Owens, age 18, Route 3 Box 137B, Sandyville,
WV, for failing to appear in Juvenile Court.
Eric S. Lightfritz, age 22, Route 2 Box 194, Marietta,
for theft of property from Food 4 Less valued under $500 and
for criminal trespassing on 8 Oct 03.
Curtis S. McGregor, age 25, 115 Holiday Drive,
Marietta, for receiving stolen property at a value of $3,450,
a felony.
The following individuals
were processed into the Washington County Jail:
John Dwaine Nicholas, age 40, 816 Front Street,
Marietta, for driving under suspension and for operating without
a license, both misdemeanors. Nicholas was arrested in Reno
by the Ohio State Highway Patrol and processed into the Washington
County Jail on 13 May 04 at 12:55 am.
Terry Lee Hagan, age 41, 3112 96th Street, Cleveland,
for a felony charge of possession of drugs and misdemeanor charges
of possession of drugs and speeding. Hagan was arrested on Interstate
77 by the Ohio State Highway Patrol and processed into the Washington
County Jail on 13 May 04 at 2:37 am.
Jason Roger Allberry, age 26, 150 First Street
Lot 14, Buckeye Lake, OH, for nonsupport of dependants, a misdemeanor.
Allberry was arrested in Marietta Municipal Court by Deputy
Sheriff Brockmeier and processed into the Washington County
Jail on 13 May 04 at 9:20 am.
Robin Annette McLester, age 45, 2680 Bear Run
Road, Reno, for operating without a license and for failure
to yield the right of way, both misdemeanors. McLester was arrested
on County Road 25 by the Ohio State Highway Patrol and processed
into the Washington County Jail on 13 May 04 at 12:10 pm.
David William Long II, age 27, 284 Ridgewood Court
Apt. E, Marietta, for violating the terms of his probation and
for failure to appear, both misdemeanors. Long was arrested
at Ridgewood Court by Probation Officer Hamilton and processed
into the Washington County Jail on 13 May 04 at 2:55 pm.
Michael Edward Heitkamp, age 40, 432 Walnut Street,
Richmond, KY, for the unauthorized use of a motor vehicle, a
felony. Heitkamp was picked up in Richmond, KY by Deputy Sheriff
Underwood and processed into the Washington County Jail on 13
May 04 at 5:25 pm.
