On 11 May 04 Gary Hartless, age 39, Route 1 Box
563 Wick, WV, reported receiving two worthless checks totaling
$750 for wages earned while working for a Newport resident in
April of this year. This case remains under investigation (8411).
On 11 May 04 an employee of Napoli’s Pizza
reported the Little Hocking franchise received a worthless checks
for $61 and $17 in February of this year. This case remains
under investigation (8411).
On 11 May 04 a Marietta woman reported her seventeen
year old son was out past his 9 pm curfew and has yet to return
home. This case remains under investigation (597).
On 11 May 04 Phillip J. Kasprzycki, age 40, 501
North East Avenue, Jackson, MI, an inmate of the Washington
County Jail, reported he was assaulted while he attempted to
interdict a fight between two other inmates. This case remains
under investigation (490).
On 11 May 04 Amanda M. Morgan, age 24, 830 Congress
Road, Belpre, reported while she ran errands earlier that afternoon,
an unknown suspect(s) entered her locked trailer and stole a
sum of cash that was sitting on top of her microwave. This case
remains under investigation (490).
On 11 May 04 Deputy Sheriff Malone was dispatched
to Wilson Drive in Coal Run after Gary Frazier, age 48, 545
Wilson Drive, Coal Run, reported a melee was about to begin.
A confrontation began between residents concerning the driving
habits of Gretchen Mace, age 19, 18001 State Route 676, Marietta.
Tempers subsided and a registration check of Ms. Mace’s
Eagle Talon showed it did not have the proper registration.
As a result, Deputy Malone issued Ms. Mace a citation for having
fictitious registration.
On 11 May 04 Julia M. Dotson, age 43, 1495 Burnett
Road, Cutler, reported she found what appeared to be a bullet
hole in the side of her mobile home. Further investigation concluded
a rock, l1ikely propelled by a lawn mower, caused the damage
(296).
On 11 May 04 Pamela D. Carpenter, age 44, 389
Cedar Ridge Road, Lowell, reported, on several occasions during
the past two weeks, an acquaintance has driven her van without
her permission. While taking the complaint on this matter Deputy
Sheriff Mankins recovered road signs for State Route 550, Johnson
Road and High and Center Streets. Ms. Carpenter stated her daughter
had in their basement for approximately two years. These cases
remain under investigation.
On 11 May 04 a Belpre woman reported her sixteen
year old son, who does not have a driver’s license, stole
$400, took her Chevy Cavalier and left the home without permission.
This case remains under investigation (490).
The following individuals
were processed into the Washington County Jail:
Brian Keith Riel, age 35, 1213 Camden Avenue,
Parkersburg, for theft, a misdemeanor. Riel was arrested at
Food 4 Less by Patrolman Chapman of the Marietta City Police
Department and processed into the Washington County Jail on
11 May 04 at 5:30 am.
Kyle Andrew Morris, age 23, 2005 Pleasant Ridge
Road, Marietta, for violating the terms of his probation, a
misdemeanor. Morris was arrested at his residence by Probation
Officer Ferrell and processed into the Washington County Jail
on 11 May 04 at 10:00 pm.
