On 9 May 04 Pamela Campbell, age 33, 555 Eyermann
Road, Belpre, reported her neighbor maligned her by making derogatory
comments about how she raised her kids. This case remains under
investigation (602).
On 9 May 04 Deputy Sheriff Evans was dispatched
to the home of a twenty-five year old Fleming resident who slit
his wrist. The individual was transported to Marietta Memorial
Hospital for treatment and evaluation.
On 9 May 04 Deputy Sheriff Norman issued a citation
to Ernest E. Delong, age 63, 630 Long Run Road, Newport, for
traveling 52 mph in a 35 mph zone. Deputy Norman stopped Mr.
Delong on Millers Lane near Brandy Drive in Marietta Township.
On 9 May 04 Deputy Sheriff Jenkins issued a citation
to Lloyd W. Bevague, 38 Second Street, Vincent, for traveling
81 mph in a 55 mph zone. Deputy Jenkins stopped Mr. Bevague
at milepost 5 on State Route 555 in Wesley Township.
On 9 May 04 Deputy Sheriff Mankins issued a citation
to Bobby D. Baker, age 34, 1195 East Branch Road, Lowell for
driving under a suspended license. Deputy Mankins stopped Mr.
Baker on State Route 821 near Salem Liberty School in Wesley
Township.
On 9 May 04 Arville E. Rutter, age 54, 965 Silver
Globe Road, Marietta, reported a friend may have stolen a quantity
of prescription medication while visiting her home the previous
evening. This case remains under investigation (698).
On 9 May 04 Deputy Sheriff Evans initiated a traffic
stop on a motorcyclist southbound on State Route 7 near Braun
Road in Belpre. Radar speed indicated the motorcyclist, Michael
L. Mayle, age 46, 2412 Norris Avenue, Belpre, was traveling
68 mph in a 55 mph zone. Prior to stopping, Mr. Mayle also swerved
outside of his lane of travel. Mr. Mayle was visibly intoxicated
and subsequently failed a series of field sobriety tests. Accordingly,
Mr. Mayle was cited for speeding, arrested for OVI and transported
to the Washington County Jail.
The following individuals
were processed into the Washington County Jail:
Robert Eugene Graham II, age 45, 608 ½
Front Street, Marietta, for violating the terms of his probation,
a felony. Graham turned himself in at the Washington County
Sheriff’s Office and was processed into the Washington
County Jail on 9 May 04 at 12:35 pm.
