On 6 May 04 Bert Sullivan, age 62, 111 Chippewa
Drive, Marietta, reported the padlock to a storage building
he rents at Triple H Rental Storage on Brook Lane in Marietta
was damaged between now and December of last year. This case
remains under investigation (602).
On 6 May 04 Gene L. Glowaski, age 71, 37 Elba
Hill Road, Macksburg, reported a .22 caliber Ruger MK II handgun
and .45 caliber Lama handgun were stolen from his home during
the past two weeks. This case remains under investigation (1203).
On 6 May 04 Deputy Sheriff Brown investigated
a two-vehicle collision at 5085 Whipple Run in Whipple. Riley
B. Morris, age 59, 860 Tick Hill Road, Lowell, was backing a
school bus into the driveway in preparation to turn around and
struck the rear of a GMC Jimmy owned by Robert J. Warden, 5085
Whipple Run, Whipple. Both vehicles sustained light damage and
no injuries were reported.
On 6 May 04 Deputy Sheriffs Norman and Stackpole
were dispatched to the vicinity of Sandhill Road after several
resident reported seeing a suspect walking along the street
damaging mailboxes. On their arrival they spotted the suspect
and observed red marks on his hands. Jimmy R. Waterman, age
22, 1045 Sandhill Road, Marietta, admitted punching the mailboxes
to vent his anger as well as stealing a solar powered landscape
light. Mr. Waterman was arrested, charged with criminal damaging
and theft and transported to the Washington County Jail.
On 6 May 04 Deputy Sheriff Kapple was dispatched
to Mill Branch Road in Belpre following a complaint made by
Tamela Rhodes, age 39, 820 Mill Branch Road, Belpre. Mrs. Rhodes
stated her estranged husband, Bill, age 39, was following her
as she drove and abruptly cut her off on several occasions.
During his investigation Deputy Kapple learned Mr. Rhodes’
license was suspended for an OVI offense. In conclusion, Deputy
Kapple requested warrants for Mr. Rhodes for driving under suspension
and disorderly conduct.
On 6 May 04 Deputy Sheriff Kapple investigated
the theft of a stereo amplifier from a seventeen-year-old Belpre
youth. The juvenile reported receiving a phone call from an
acquaintance stating he took the amplifier several weeks ago
and sold it. Deputy Kapple located the seventeen-year-old perpetrator
of the theft and requested a summons for his appearance in Juvenile
Court. Kevin A. Morris, age 20, 1611 Windy Ridge Road, Vincent,
was also summonsed to appear in court for receiving stolen property
for confessing he knew the amplifier was stolen since he paid
so little for it.
On 6 May 04 Penny Harriman, age 35, 184 Cats Creek
Road, Lowell, reported her former live-in boyfriend Randal Schwendeman,
age 44, against whom she has a protection order, appeared on
her porch at 5 am, was intoxicated and attempted to enter her
home. Mr. Schwendeman deserted the scene prior to the arrival
of Deputy Sheriff Malone, but was stopped moments later by Deputy
Sheriff Stackpole on Cats Creek Road. Confirming Mr. Schwendeman’s
inebriation, Deputy Stackpole arrested him for OVI and violating
a protection order and transported him to the Washington County
Jail.
The following individuals
were processed into the Washington County Jail:
Jimmy Ray Waterman, age 22, 1045 Sand Hill Road
Lot 12, Reno, for two charges of criminal damaging or endangering
and theft, all misdemeanors. Waterman was arrested on Sand Hill
by Deputy Sheriff Norman and processed into the Washington County
Jail on 6 May 04 at 1:20 am.
Jesse Scott Books, age 21, 948 Ridge Street, Marietta,
for a felony charge of driving under suspension and misdemeanor
charges of disorderly conduct and criminal trespassing. Books
was arrested on Seventh Street by Patrolman Chapman of the Marietta
City Police Department and processed into the Washington County
Jail on 6 May 04 at 3:35 am.
Randal Lee Schwendeman, age 44, 184 Cats Creek
Road, Lowell, for .08 breath OVI and violating a protection
order, both misdemeanors. Schwendeman was arrested on Cats Creek
road by Deputy Sheriff Malone and processed into the Washington
County Jail on 6 May 04 at 6:44 am.
Dale David Goddard Jr., age 38, 29530 State Route
565, Lower Salem, for driving under suspension, a misdemeanor.
Goddard was arrested in Marietta Municipal Court by Deputy Sheriff
Sears and processed into the Washington County Jail on 6 May
04 at 9:10 am.
James Edward Barker Jr., age 42, 449 Martown Road,
for nonsupport of dependants, a misdemeanor. Barker was arrested
at the Civil Division of the Sheriff’s Office by Corrections
Officer Carr and processed into the Washington County Jail on
6 May 04 at 10:12 am.
Austin Leroy James Stacy, age 19, Marietta, for
for violating the terms of his probation, a misdemeanor. Stacy
turned himself in to Probation Officer Bosworth and was processed
into the Washington County Jail on 6 May 04 at 12:50 pm.
Richard L. Robinson, age 40, PO Box 122, Belleville,
WV, for afelony charge of escape and misdemeanor charges of
theft, OVI, no seat belt and driving outside the marked lanes
of travel. Robinson was picked up at the North Central Regional
Jail in Charleston by the Ohio State Highway Patrol and processed
into the Washington County Jail on 6 May 04 at 6:18 pm.
