On 29 Apr 04 Becky Burge, 101 Dye Circle, Marietta, reported the windshield of her Pontiac Sunbird was damaged while parked along the road at the intersection of State Route 550 and Simpson Street in Marietta Township. An investigation by Deputy Sheriff Brockmeier concluded the windshield was damage by a rock kicked up by a passing vehicle.

On 29 Apr 04 Deputy Sheriff Kapple issued a citation to Stephen E. Adley, age 50, 1276 Beechnut Drive, Akron, for traveling 81 mph in a 55 mph zone. Deputy Kapple stopped Mr. Adley on State Route 7 near County Road 51 in Dunham Township.

On 29 Apr 04 a forty two Marietta woman reported an acquaintance repeatedly phoned her house after being asked not to do so. A subsequent investigation by Deputy Sheriff Eddy resulted in charges being filed against Deborah M. Harris, age 44, 682 Bender Road, Marietta, for telecommunications harassment.

On 29 Apr 04 Dana J. Zoller, age 61, Route 6 Rights Road, Marietta, reported several of her realty signs in the Mount Tom Pines subdivision have been stolen or damaged. This case remains under investigation (1203).

On 29 Apr 04 Deputy Sheriff Evans stopped the driver of a motorcycle at milepost 11 on State Route 821 for traveling 73 mph in a 55 mph zone. Observing the driver swaying and slurring his speech, Deputy Evans requested Bryan Eugene Sturm, age 36, 37321 State Route 145, Lower Salem, submit to field sobriety tests, on which he performed poorly. Consequently, Deputy Evans arrested Mr. Sturm for OVI and transported him to the Washington County Jail.

On 29 Apr 04 Vicki L. Howell, age 33, 623 Front Street, Marietta, reported after giving a friend a 1978 van, her friend has not returned to sign over the title. This case remains under investigation (602).

The following individuals were processed into the Washington County Jail:

Nicholas Lauren Kaptis, age 25, 33 Park Villa, Parkersburg, for OVI, driving under suspension, reckless operation and driving the wrong way on a divided highway, all misdemeanors. Kaptis was arrested on Fourth Street in Belpre by Patrolman Williams of the Belpre City Police Department and processed into the Washington County Jail on 29 Apr 04 at 1:10 am.

Anthony Eugene Boswell, age 23, 834 Fourth Street, Marietta, for contempt and for resisting arrest, both misdemeanors. Boswell was arrested at the Locker Room by Patrolman Huffman of the Marietta City Police Department and processed into the Washington County Jail on 29 Apr 04 at 2:55 am.

James Glen Lockhart, 33, 85 Dry Run Road, Williamstown, for driving under suspension, having a fictitious registration and for failing to appear at a court ordered hearing on unpaid fines, all misdemeanors. Lockhart was arrested on Washington Boulevard in Belpre by Patrolman Mitchell of the Belpre City Police Department and processed into the Washington County Jail on 29 Apr 04 at 12:45 pm.

Bryan Eugene Sturm, age 36, 37321 State Route 145, Lower Salem, for OVI and speeding, both misdemeanors. Sturm was arrested in Whipple by Deputy Sheriff Evans and processed into the Washington County Jail on 29 Apr 04 at 11:20 pm.
