On 26 Apr 04 Deputy Sheriff Ferrell issued a citation
to Lucas M. Williams, age 18, 270 East Branch Road, Lowell,
for littering. Mr. Williams was observed throwing a napkin out
his window as he drove past Speedway on State Route 60.
On 26 Apr 04 Deputy Sheriff Evans issued a citation
to Cody J. Hendershot, age 18, 1754 Vickers Road, Marietta,
for traveling 70 mph in a 55 mph zone. Deputy Evans stopped
Mr. Hendershot at mile post eleven on State Route 339 in Barlow
Township.
On 26 Apr 04 Deputy Sheriff Mankins issued a citation
to Dale D. Goddard Jr., age 38, 138 Alta Street, Marietta, for
driving under suspension. Deputy Mankins initially stopped Mr.
Goddard on State Route 60 near Colgate Drive for driving without
headlights.
On 26 Apr 04 Lt. Huffer and Sgt. Hiatt were dispatched
to Masonic Park Road in Muskingum Township after two witnesses
reported seeing a black Cadillac turn onto Chevy Chase Manor
at a high rate of speed, causing it to leave the roadway and
damage the lawn of a home. Identifying the vehicle at the owner’s
residence, Jason M. Rowe, age 23, 127 Ohio Boulevard, Marietta,
admitted causing the damage and was issued a citation for reckless
operation.
On 26 Apr 04 Lt. Canavan and Deputy Sheriff Rhodes
were dispatched to 2610 Braun Road, Belpre, to investigate a
domestic violence complaint. Stephanie O’Brien, age 28,
stated she was attempting to remove her belongings from the
home she shares with her boyfriend Steven V. Barnhart, age 50,
and Mr. Barnhart would not let her leave. Ms. O’Brien
informed Deputy Rhodes of another altercation on 10 Apr 04 during
which Mr. Barnhart broke a necklace off Ms. O’Brien’s
neck and grabbed her tightly by the biceps causing bruising.
As a result, Deputy Rhodes arrested Mr. Barnhart for domestic
violence and transported him to the Washington County Jail.
On 26 Apr 04 Deputy Sheriff Mankins was dispatched
to the County Home at 845 County House Lane, Marietta, after
a resident, Joshua D. Veach, age 26, reported another resident,
Marc Fleming, age 33, punched him twice in the leg and threatened
to hurt him if he did not give him his paycheck. Consequently,
Deputy Mankins arrested Mr. Fleming for assault and menacing
and transported him to the Washington County Jail where he is
being held without bond.
On 26 Apr 04 while following up on a junk vehicle
complaint at 3300 Cambridge Road, Marietta, Deputy Sheriff Coppernoll
discovered additional vehicles in violation of the Ohio Revised
Code. This case remains under investigation.
The following individuals
were processed into the Washington County Jail:
Janet Marlene Kirby, age 30, 2451 Welch Road,
Little Hocking, for domestic violence, a misdemeanor. Kirby
was arrested at her residence by Deputy Sheriff Gherke of the
Washington County Sheriff’s Office and processed into
the Washington County Jail on 26 Apr 04 at 1:25 am.
Steven Van Barnhart, age 50, 2610 Braun Road,
Belpre, for domestic violence, a misdemeanor. Barnhart was arrested
at his residence by Deputy Sheriff Rhodes of the Washington
County Sheriff’s Office and processed into the Washington
County Jail on 26 Apr 04 at 2:15 pm.
Trent Edward Stevens, age 27, 908 Fourth Street,
Marietta, for violating the terms of his probation, a felony.
Stevens was arrested at the office of Probation Officer Gault
and processed into the Washington County Jail on 26 Apr 04 at
2:44 pm.
Marc David Fleming, age 33, 845 County House Lane,
Marietta, for assault and menacing, both misdemeanors. Fleming
was arrested at the County Home by Deputy Sheriff Mankins of
the Washington County Sheriff’s Office and processed into
the Washington County Jail on 26 Apr 04 at 7:25 pm.
