On 21 Apr 04 Deputy Sheriff Jenkins issued a citation
to Melanie K. Byers, age 25, 717 Riverview Drive Apt. 506, Belmont,
WV, for failing to stop before turning from the St. Marys bridge
onto State Route 7 in Newport.
On 21 Apr 04 Wesley Lincoln, age 19, 955 Mitchells
Lane, Marietta, reported he was assaulted by another inmate
in the Washington County Jail. An investigation by Deputy Sheriff
Kapple confirmed Mr. Lincoln’s account. Therefore Deputy
Kapple filed charges against Robert J. Perry, age 34, 3010 Cats
Creek Road, Lowell, for assault.
On 21 Apr 04 a citizen called in to report seeing
an abandoned refrigerator on Luke Chute Road, Waterford. Concerned
a child may get trapped inside, Deputy Sheriff Brown secured
the door off the refrigerator.
On 21 Apr 04 Debra Wright, age 46, 125 Millers
Lane Apt. C4, Marietta, reported she had not had contact with
her nineteen year old daughter since the previous day. The woman
was located and indicated she had car trouble. Case closed (945).
On 21 Apr 04 Sharon Holiday, age 38, 1910 Sandhill
Road, Marietta, reported she found a 45 mph road sign in her
barn. The sign was returned to her local Township Trustee (945).
On 21 Apr 04 Cory Meeks, age 18, 12 Forshey Drive,
Marietta, reported he was scratched by his live-in girlfriend.
Mr. Meeks desired not to press charges (698).
On 21 Apr 04 Melissa A. Causey, age 22, reported
an unknown suspect broke the passenger side window of her Geo
Tracker early Wednesday morning. This case remains under investigation
(592).
On 21 Apr 04 Ralph Kerns, age 55, 106 Kibler Lane,
Williamstown, reported witnessing a woman making a substantial
drug transaction take place in the Wal Mart parking lot. An
investigation by Detectives Warden and Alkire determined the
woman was Mr. Kerns’ ex-girlfriend and he fabricated the
story because he is upset with her. Accordingly, Detective Warden
requested summonses for Mr. Kerns for falsification and menacing
by stalking.
The Sheriff’s Office
received the following warrants:
Richard D. Bailey, age 47, Route 8 Box 293A, Marietta,
for failing to appear at a Debtor’s Exam on 26 Mar 04.
Kathy Mayle, age 36, 411 Victoria Avenue, Williamstown,
for failing to appear at a Debtor’s Exam on 26 Mar 04.
Rosanne G. Young, age 55, 156B Kellar Lane, Williamstown,
for failing to appear at a Debtor’s Exam on 26 Mar 04.
The following individuals
were processed into the Washington County Jail:
Curtis Clayton Lamp, age 40, 26935 State Route
7, Marietta, for .17 breath OVI and failure to yield the right
of way at a red light, both misdemeanors. Lamp was arrested
on Putnam Street by Deputy Sheriff Mankins of the Washington
County Sheriff’s Office and processed into the Washington
County Jail on 21 Apr 04 at 1:10 am.
Michael Shane Treadway, age 18, 902 Phillips Street,
Marietta, for possession of drug paraphernalia, a misdemeanor.
Treadway was arrested on Third Street by Lt. Wilson of the Washington
County Sheriff’s Office and processed into the Washington
County Jail on 21 Apr 04 at 3:55 am.
Justin Roger Shirley, age 22, 410 Cornerville
Road, Reno, for telephone harassment, a misdemeanor. Shirley
turned himself in to Deputy Sheriff Huck of the Washington County
Sheriff’s Office and was processed into the Washington
County Jail on 21 Apr 04 at 6:24 pm.
