On 19 Apr 04 Lt. Huffer and Deputy Sheriff Evans
responded to the report of an intoxicated man walking along
County Road 51 near the Station Carryout. In speaking with the
suspect, William Webster Rider Jr., age 38, 533 ½ Second
Street Apt. 2, Marietta, Deputy Evans noticed Mr. Rider’s
speech was slurred and he was unsteady on his feet. Mr. Rider
admitted consuming alcohol at the Station earlier, was arrested
for disorderly conduct by intoxication and transported to the
Washington County Jail.
On 19 Apr 04 Detective Sirianni assisted the Marietta
City Police Department in the execution of a search warrant
on a home in Little Hocking. This case remains under investigation.
On 19 Apr 04 Ilikai L. Howell, age 35, 1985 Sandhill
Road, Marietta, reported a friend of her daughter entered her
daughter’s room and took a stuffed frog. This case remains
under investigation (296).
On 19 Apr 04 Sgt. Underwood issued a citation
to David M. Rhodes, age 39, 52197 State Route 248, Long Bottom,
traveling 41 mph in a 20 mph zone. Sgt. Underwood stopped Mr.
Rhodes on State Route 124 near Federal Road in Belpre Township.
On 19 Apr 04 an employee of Putnam Elementary
School, 598 Masonic Park Road, Marietta, reported an unidentified
suspect(s) threw several rocks through windows of the school,
breaking six. This case remains under investigation (792).
On 19 Apr 04 the Sheriff’s
Office received the following warrants:
Justin R. Shirley, age 22, 410 Cornerville Road,
Reno, for telecommunications harassment, as charged by Deputy
Sheriff Spencer on 10 Mar 04.
Roland A. Amash, age 40, 4270 State Route 60,
Marietta, for failure to confine or restrain a dog, as charged
by the Dog Warden on 15 Mar 04.
The following individuals
were processed into the Washington County Jail:
Jimmy Ray Brookover, age 41, Lot 4 State Route
60, Lowell, for domestic violence, a misdemeanor. Brookover
was arrested at his residence by Deputy Sheriff Evans of the
Washington County Sheriff’s Office and processed into
the Washington County Jail on 19 Apr 04 at 3:07 am.
Shawna Sue Wise, age 20, 26127 State Route 7,
Marietta, for failure to appear, a misdemeanor. Wise was arrested
in Juvenile Court by Corrections Officer Carr of the Washington
County Sheriff’s Office and processed into the Washington
County Jail on 19 Apr 04 at 8:20 am.
Teresa Faye Bass, age 47, 2204 Murray Street Apt.
3, Belpre, for trafficking in drugs and escape, both felonies.
Bass was arrested at the Washington County Jail by Corrections
Officer Carr of the Washington County Sheriff’s Office
and processed into the jail on 19 Apr 04 at 2:45 pm.

Sheriff Evans of the Washington County Sheriff’s Office
and processed into the Washington County Jail on 19 Apr 04 at
11:25 pm.
Teddy Lee Wojcik, age 21, 123 Elmer Avenue, Weirton,
WV, for driving under an OVI suspended license and no plates,
both misdemeanors. Wojcik was arrested on State Route 7 by the
Ohio State Highway Patrol and processed into the Washington
County Jail on 19 Apr 04 at 11:45 pm.
