On 18 Apr 04 Deputy Sheriffs Malone and Stackpole
were dispatched to the home of Deborah Hemingway, age 44, 408
Cross Road, Belpre, to investigate a domestic violence complaint.
Mrs. Hemingway stated her husband Charles, age 41, came home
from the grocery store in an agitated state an argument ensued
and Mr. Hemingway slapped his wife in the mouth and twisted
a cigarette out of her hand. While fleeing, Mrs. Hemingway was
pushed onto the chairs on their porch then fled to her sister’s.
Not able to locate Mr. Hemingway at the scene, Deputy Stackpole
requested a warrant for felony domestic violence for Mr. Hemingway
having a prior conviction for domestic violence.
On 18 Apr 04 Deputy Sheriff Evans investigated
the report of a fifteen year old male that operated a vehicle
without the owner’s consent and struck another vehicle
in the parking lot of Waterford High School. A summons will
be requested for the youth to appear in Juvenile Court.
On 18 Apr 04 Deputy Sheriff Kapple investigated
a complaint at Goodfellows Park, 15200 State Route 550, Marietta,
concerning the fact that several unauthorized vehicles were
inside a locked gate and during their egress, a vehicle hit
a telephone box while driving around the gate and a subsequently
cut the padlocks off the gate. The Chevy S-10, driven by Jeremiah
A. Jeffers, age 20, 1382 Vickers Road, Marietta, sustained light
damage as well did the phone box owned by Ameritech. The damaging
of the padlocks remains under investigation.
On 18 Apr 04 Jill M. Brookover, age 36, 945 Dodd
Run Road, Marietta, reported after an argument, her brother
Jimmy R. Brookover, age 41, Drake Trailer Park Lot 4, Lowell,
called her and threatened to snap her neck. As a result of an
investigation, Deputy Sheriff Evans requested a warrant for
Mr. Brookover for domestic violence.
On 18 Apr 04 Deputy Sheriff Jenkins issued a citation
to Michael Price, age 22, 155 Jacob Street, Navarre, OH, for
traveling 73 mph in a 50 mph zone. Deputy Jenkins stopped Mr.
Price on US 50 near Braun Avenue in Belpre Township.
On 18 Apr 04 Deputy Sheriff Evans issued a citation
to a sixteen year old Devola girl for passing over a double
yellow line. Deputy Evans stopped the juvenile on Colgate Drive
near Washington State in Marietta.
The following individuals
were processed into the Washington County Jail:
Mark Lee Duskey, age 36, PO Box 246, Lowell, for
.17 breath OVI and driving outside the marked lanes of travel,
both misdemeanors. Duskey was arrested in Devola by Deputy Sheriff
Eddy of the Washington County Sheriff’s Office and processed
into the Washington County Jail on 18 Apr 04 at 12:09 am.
John Dionisio Demoya, age 20, 215 Fifth Street,
Marietta, for underage consumption, obstructing official business
and resisting arrest, all misdemeanors. Demoya was arrested
at Marietta College by Officer Moon of the Marietta College
Police Department and processed into the Washington County Jail
on 18 Apr 04 at 12:50 am.
Antonio Maria Horta, age 20, 741 ½ Greene
Street, Marietta, for underage consumption, criminal trespassing
and resisting arrest, all misdemeanors. Horta was arrested at
Marietta College by Officer Moon of the Marietta College Police
Department and processed into the Washington County Jail on
18 Apr 04 at 12:50 am.
Marvin Ray Ruble Jr., age 31, 313 Third Street,
Beverly, for violating the terms of his probation, a misdemeanor.
Ruble was arrested at Colonial Terrace by Patrolman Sury of
the Marietta City Police Department and processed into the Washington
County Jail on 18 Apr 04 at 4:58 am.
Joshua Allen Campbell, age 21, 314 Washington
Street, Marietta, for theft, a misdemeanor. Campbell was arrested
on Riley Drive by Sgt. Hiatt of the Washington County Sheriff’s
Office and processed into the Washington County Jail on 18 Apr
04 at 10:45 am.
