On 16 Apr 04 William D. Smith, age 51, 405 Fourth Street Apt. 3, Marietta, reported while asleep at his girlfriend’s home at 162 Dawes Circle, his girlfriend woke him, hit him and asked him to leave. After an investigation Deputy Sheriff Huck deduced no physical conflict occurred.

On 16 Apr 04 James Martin, age 78, 14543 State Route 676, Waterford, reported while driving on Mill Street in Waterford an unknown male ran into the street and flagged him down. After stopping the man threatened Mr. Martin and spit in his face. Deputy Sheriff Evans located the suspect, Jarod L. Gillespie, age 30, 14403 State Route 676, Waterford, arrested him on the charge of menacing and transported him to the Washington County Jail.

On 16 Apr 04 Deputy Sheriff Jenkins issued a citation to Barbara Grizer, age 40, 1530 Nichols Road, Whipple, for traveling 89 mph in a 55 mph zone. Deputy Jenkins stopped Ms. Grizer on State Route 7 near County Road 51 in Dunham Township.

On 16 Apr 04 Lt. Wilson and Deputy Sheriff Stackpole were dispatched to 101 Pine View Circle to investigate a complaint concerning a vehicle running outside a residence. When they arrived at the scene Lt. Wilson observed the driver of a truck passed out at the steering wheel with his foot on the brake pedal and it was obvious he ran through two yards. Able to wake the driver, Deputies requested he shut the vehicle off and exit the vehicle. Negotiations failed as the driver attempted to travel in reverse. As a result, Lt. Wilson was forced to break the glass and enabled Deputy Stackpole to shut off the vehicle. They then had to forcefully remove Todd McVicar, age 35, 111 Shamrock Drive, Marietta, from the vehicle and arrest him. Mr. McVicar was charged with OVI and failure to comply and transported to the Washington County Jail.

The following individuals were processed into the Washington County Jail:

Danell Lynne Winans, age 26, 1201 County House Lane Apt. A, Marietta, for violating the terms of her probation, a felony. Winans was arrested at the office of Probation Officer Gilchrist and processed into the Washington County Jail on 16 Apr 04 at 8:50 am.

Georgene M. Christopher, age 35, 23180 Jordan Run Road Route 3, Coolville, a fugitive from justice, a felony, and theft, a misdemeanor. Christopher was arrested on Fourth Street by Deputy Sheriff Brown of the Washington County Sheriff’s Office and processed into the Washington County Jail on 16 Apr 04 at 3:10 pm.

Kelly Lynn Johnson, age 19, 410 Fern Street, Marietta, for violating the terms of her probation, a misdemeanor. Johnson was arrested at the office of Probation Officer Bosworth and processed into the Washington County Jail on 16 Apr 04 at 4:00 pm.

Jared L. Gillespie, age 30, 14403 State Route 676, Waterford, for violating the terms of her probation and menacing, both misdemeanors. Gillespie was arrested in Waterford by Sgt. Underwood of the Washington County Sheriff’s Office and processed into the Washington County Jail on 16 Apr 04 at 8:34 pm.
