On 14 Apr 04 an employee of Hilltop Auto Wrecking, 975 Blue Knob Road, Marietta, reported receiving a bad check in the amount of $64.50 on 8 Mar 04. This case remains under investigation (8411).

On 14 Apr 04 an employee of White Oak Dental, 8400 State Route 339, Barlow, reported receiving a bad check in the amount of $50.00 on 23 Jan 04. This case remains under investigation (8411).

On 14 Apr 04 James D. Ramsey, age 41, 300 Starlite Drive, Marietta, reported to Deputy Sheriff Brown that while was in jail for a period of time, his live-in girlfriend forged his name on several checks. Mr. Ramsey later recanted and refused to pursue the matter further.

On 14 Apr 04 the mother of a nine year old and a fourteen year old girls reported her daughters claimed they were physically abused while visiting their father in Waterford on Tuesday. This case remains under investigation (602).

On 14 Apr 04 Deputy Sheriff Mankins was dispatched to 101 Bells Run Road, Newport, after Edith V. Sunderman, age 65, reported her husband Franklin, age 71, was acting irrationally and punched a wall. Deputy Mankins arrested and transported Mr. Sunderman to the Washington County Jail for disorderly conduct and a hold was placed on him at the request of his probation officer.

On 14 Apr 04 an employee of White Oak Pharmacy, 8465 State Route 339, Vincent, reported having video footage of a fifteen year old girl stealing a $.99 imitation pearl necklace. The juvenile will be summonsed to juvenile court to answer delinquency charges (602).

On 14 Apr 04 Deputy Sheriff Simmons issued a citation to a seventeen year old Waterford High School student for underage possession of tobacco after a teacher observed the student using smokeless tobacco during first period.

On 14 Apr 04 the mother of a sixteen year old Lower Salem girl reported her daughter has not contacted her since being given permission to stay at a friend’s house on 13 Apr. Deputy Sheriff Brown located the juvenile in Marietta and returned her home.

THe following individuals were processed into the Washington County Jail:

Russell Tansey Lang, age 38, Marietta, for a felony charge of burglary and a misdemeanor charge of criminal damaging or endangering. Lang was arrested on Greene Street by Patrolman Hively of the Marietta City Police Department and processed into the Washington County Jail on 14 Apr 04 at 1:21 pm.

Robert Eugene Shaver, age 25, 2644 Firetower Road, Rockhill, SC, for speeding, driving under suspension and possession of drugs, all misdemeanors. Shaver was arrested on Interstate 77 by the Ohio State Highway Patrol and processed into the Washington County Jail on 14 Apr 04 at 6:00 pm.

Donald Eugene Bartimus Jr., 2342 Sealy Ridge Road, Vincent, for trafficking in drugs, a felony. Bartimus was arrested at his residence by Detective Alkire of the Washington County Sheriff’s Office and processed into the Washington County Jail on 14 Apr 04 at 7:05 pm.

Ronald Bruce Sheridan, age 32, 223 Greene Street Apt. 1, Marietta, for domestic violence, a misdemeanor. Sheridan was arrested at his residence by Patrolman Arbaugh of the Marietta City Police Department and processed into the Washington County Jail on 14 Apr 04 at 9:00 pm.

Steven Thomas Hupp, age 33, 108 Seneca Drive, Marietta, for violating the terms of his probation, a misdemeanor. Hupp was arrested on the west side by Patrolman Arbaugh of the Marietta City Police Department and processed into the Washington County Jail on 14 Apr 04 at 11:10 pm.

Franklin Delano Sunderman, age 71, 101 Bells Run Road, Newport, for violating the terms of his probation and disorderly conduct by intoxication, both misdemeanors. Sunderman was arrested at his residence by Deputy Sheriff Mankins of the Washington County Sheriff’s Office and processed into the Washington County Jail on 14 Apr 04 at 11:10 pm.
