SPECIAL NEWS RELEASE: B & E AT THE MARATHON
FOOD CENTER IN LITTLE HOCKING
Last night at approximately 11:30 on April 13,
2004, several unknown suspects forcibly entered the Marathon
Food Center on US 50 in Little Hocking. The suspects gained
access to an automated teller machine and obtained an undisclosed
amount of cash. Before leaving, the suspects also plundered
a quantity of merchandise from the store. Vigilant citizens
with information relevant to this case are urged to contact
the Sheriff’s Office immediately at (740) 376-7070.
On 13 Apr 04 Deputy Sheriff Ferrell issued a citation
to Linda A. Masters, age 45, 210 Alderman Street, Marietta,
for having a sign within the right of way at the intersection
of State Routes 60 and 821.
On 13 Apr 04 Deputy Sheriff Simmons issued a citation
to Earl W. Thompson, age 44, 105 Knox Street, Marietta, for
operating without a license. Deputy Simmons issued the citation
on Township Road 185 after Mr. Thompson requested assistance
to get his vehicle out of a ditch.
On 13 Apr 04 Lt. Wilson observed a vehicle operating
in an erratic manner swerving wildly in his lane of travel on
Gilman Avenue. Upon making contact with the driver, Henry C.
Lori, age 42, 207 Curtis Boulevard, Marietta, Lt. Wilson noticed
a strong odor of alcohol. Mr. Lori admitted consuming alcohol
but reasoned he was the most sober of all the passengers in
the vehicle. Subsequent to failing field sobriety tests Lt.
Wilson arrested Mr. Lori for OVI and driving under suspension
and transported to the Washington County Jail.
On 13 Apr 04 Deputy Sheriff Brown responded to
a domestic dispute reported by Kristy Cline, age 26, 706 Third
Street, New Matamoras. Mrs. Cline informed Deputy Brown she
and her husband had a minor argument over the use of their checkbook
and no altercation took place. Neither party desired to pursue
charges on this matter.
On 13 Apr 04 Sandra Booth, age 49, 1116 Smithfield
Street, Parkersburg, reported her car was keyed while parked
at C & C Dodge on 10 Apr 04. This case remains under investigation
(1291).
On 13 Apr 04 Deputy Sheriff Brown reported six
mailboxes along County Road 20 and five mailboxes along Newport
Township Road 394 appear to have been damaged by blows with
a two by four. This case remains under investigation.
On 13 Apr 04 Michael J. Moran, age 46, 2810 State
Route 555, Little Hocking, reported as he traveled on State
Route 555, a trailing vehicle began pursuing him in an aggressive
manner. The vehicle followed Mr. Moran to Par Mar on State Route
7 and the vehicle’s occupants attempted to start a fight
with him. This case remains under investigation (232).
On 13 Apr 04 Fred Baker, age 55, 109 Westchester
Drive, Marietta, reported both license plates, number ACX 7308,
were stolen off his vehicle parked in the Eramet parking lot
between 6:30 am and 3 pm on 13 Apr 04. This case remains under
investigation (945).
On 13 Apr 04 an anonymous Marietta woman turned
in a syringe containing an unidentified liquid she found in
her residence. This case remains under investigation (792).
On 13 Apr 04 Santana M. Wolfe, age 18, 2425 Congress
Road, Belpre, reported her welfare was threatened via a third
party. This case remains under investigation (592).
The Sheriff’s Office
received the following warrant:
Jarrod M. Bauerbach, age 24, Pennock Trailer Park
Lot 63, Beverly, for driving under suspension, as charged by
the Ohio State Highway Patrol on 20 Feb 04.
THe
following individuals were processed into the Washington County
Jail:
Henry Clement Lori Jr., age 42, 207 Curtis Boulevard
Apt. B, Marietta, for .17 breath OVI and driving under suspension,
both misdemeanors. Lori was arrested on Gilman Street by Lt.
Wilson of the Washington County Sheriff’s Office and processed
into the Washington County Jail on 13 Apr 04 at 3:20 am.
Earl Wesley Thompson, age 44, 105 Knox Street,
Marietta, for operating without or an expired license, a misdemeanor.
Thompson was arrested in Lowell by Deputy Sheriff Simmons of
the Washington County Sheriff’s Office and processed into
the Washington County Jail on 13 Apr 04 at 1:15 pm.
James F. O’Brien II, age 26, 11820 State
Route 821, Lower Salem, for violating the terms of his probation,
a misdemeanor. O’Brien was arrested in Marietta by Probation
Officer Hamilton and processed into the Washington County Jail
on 12 Apr 04 at 7:50 pm.
