On 2 Apr 04 Deputy Sheriff Rhodes investigated
a two vehicle accident in the parking lot of a doctor’s
office at 151 Anderson Road in Watertown Township. Deborah Radcliff,
age 36, 863 Anderson Road, Fleming, was backing from her parking
stall driving a Pontiac Grand Am when she struck the rear driver
side bumper of a Subaru Legacy owned by Vicki Wittekind, 2016
Warren Chapel Road, causing light damage to both vehicles.
On 2 Apr 04 Deputy Sheriff Stackpole issued a
citation to Mark R. Strahler, age 20, Route 2 Box 173, Waterford,
for traveling 42 mph in a 20 mph zone. Deputy Stackpole stopped
Mr. Strahler on State Route 124 near County Road 26 in Belpre
Township.
On 2 Apr 04 Deputy Sheriff Kapple issued a citation
to a 17 year old Belpre youth for traveling 82 mph in a 60 mph
zone. Deputy Kapple stopped the juvenile eastbound on US 50
near Township Road 97 in Belpre Township.
On 2 Apr 04 a 14 year old New Matamoras Elementary
School student reported his twenty inch Huffy bicycle was stolen
while he attended play practice after school. This case remains
under investigation (1291).
On 2 Apr 04 while working a plain clothes detail
on patrol for alcohol violations, Deputy Sheriffs Mankins and
Brockmeier observed three males consuming alcohol in a truck
at B & J Carryout on State Route 7, Newport. Patrick J.
Blavos, age 28, PO Box 474, St. Marys, WV, Michael W. Metz,
age 24, Route 2 Box 479B, St. Marys, and Timothy J. Efaw, age
25, 219 Sun Street PO Box 173, Belmont, WV, admitted to consuming
beer in the vehicle, were arrested and transported to the Washington
County Jail.
On 2 Apr 04 several motorists reported a fire
in the engine compartment of a vehicle parked at the Barlow
rest stop on State Route 550 in Barlow. The vehicle owned by
Ginger Mayle, age 35, 323 Buckeye Ridge Road, Stockport, was
successfully extinguished by the Barlow Volunteer Fire Department
and no injuries were reported.
the Sheriff’s
Office received the following warrants:
Derek A. Byington, age 24, 356 B Williams Road,
Wilmington, OH, for violating the terms of his probation by
failing to appear for a scheduled probation appointment, for
failing to appear to serve twenty days in jail on 15 Mar 04
and for failing to bring his vehicle to have it immobilized
for ninety days. Byington was originally charged with second
offense OVI by Patrolman Huffman of the Marietta City Police
Department.
Christopher S. McMannis, age 34, 39470 Morris
Road, Caldwell, OH, for violating the terms of his probation
by failing to appear for a scheduled meeting, for failing to
appear to serve three days in jail on 13 Feb 04 and for refusing
to claim a certified letter sent to his home. McMannis was originally
charged with OVI by Patrolman Linscott of the Marietta City
Police Department.
James R. Ball Jr., age 33, PO Box 1251, Beckley,
WV, for failing to appear in court for a jury trial on the charge
of failure to comply with the order or signal of a police officer.
The following individuals
were processed into the Washington County Jail:
Henry Theodore Allen II, age 26, 175 Chateau Hills,
Parkersburg, for failure to appear, a misdemeanor. Allen was
picked up at the North Central Regional Jail in Charleston,
WV, by Deputy Sheriff Coppernoll of the Washington County Sheriff’s
Office and processed into the Washington County Jail on 2 Apr
04 at 10:40 am.
Antonio Russell Whiteside, age 34, 323 Schaum
Avenue, Zanesville, for OVI, a misdemeanor. Russell was picked
up at the Muskingum County Jail by Deputy Sheriff Underwood
of the Washington County Sheriff’s Office and processed
into the Washington County Jail on 2 Apr 04 at 2:52 pm.
Corie Donald Payton, age 19, 5455 Center Road,
Zanesville, for violating the terms of his probation, a misdemeanor.
Payton was picked up at the Muskingum County Jail by Deputy
Sheriff Underwood of the Washington County Sheriff’s Office
and processed into the Washington County Jail on 2 Apr 04 at
3:00 pm.
Patrick Joseph Blavos, age 28, 525 Ruby Street,
Belmont, WV, for consuming in a vehicle, a misdemeanor. Blavos
was arrested at B&J Carryout in Newport by Deputy Sheriff
Mankins of the Washington County Sheriff’s Office and
processed into the Washington County Jail on 2 Apr 04 at 8:50
pm.
Timothy Jason Efaw, age 25, 219 Sun Street, Belmont,
WV, for consuming in a vehicle, a misdemeanor. Efaw was arrested
at B&J Carryout in Newport by Deputy Sheriff Mankins of
the Washington County Sheriff’s Office and processed into
the Washington County Jail on 2 Apr 04 at 8:50 pm.
Michael Wayne Metz, age 24, Route 2 Box 479B,
St. Marys, WV, for consuming in a vehicle, a misdemeanor. Metz
was arrested at B&J Carryout in Newport by Deputy Sheriff
Mankins of the Washington County Sheriff’s Office and
processed into the Washington County Jail on 2 Apr 04 at 8:50
pm.
Jeffrey Alan Theiss, age 26, 27130 State Route 7, Reno, for
failure to appear at a court ordered hearing on unpaid fines,
a misdemeanor. Theiss was arrested on State Route 7 by Deputy
Sheriff Mankins of the Washington County Sheriff’s Office
and processed into the Washington County Jail on 2 Apr 04 at
3:10 am.
