On 26 Mar 04 Deputy Sheriff Spencer investigated
a two vehicle collision in the driveway of AMP-Ohio on State
Route 7 in Warren Township. Delma F. Lockhart, age 54, 91 Keith
Street, Parkersburg, was stopped in traffic in her Ford Escort
behind a tractor trailer operated by Harley Acker, age 63, 149
Medina Street, Rittman, OH, when the tractor trailer rolled
backward on a slight incline and hit the Escort, causing light
damage to the front of the vehicle. No injuries were reported.
On 26 Mar 04 William E. O’Brien, age 39,
145 Second Street, Warner, reported when he returned to his
residence from the Misty Blue after midnight, he discovered
an unknown suspect had slashed all four tires on his and his
girlfriend’s cars, the kitchen window to his home was
broken and miscellaneous power tools and CD’s were missing.
This case remains under investigation (1203).
On 26 Mar 04 Deputy Sheriff Huck initiated a traffic
stop on Aurora Avenue after a resident of Colonial Terrace Apartments
reported the driver of the truck was on the complex’s
property against a no trespass order. Deputy Huck arrested Mark
A. McIntyre, age 22, 223 Broughton Avenue, Marietta, for criminal
trespassing and transported him to the Washington County Jail.
On 26 Mar 04 an employee of Dunham Square, 3876
State Route 339, reported the driver of a 1995 green Subaru
two door drove off without paying for $22.12 in gas. This case
remains under investigation (698).
On 26 Mar 04 Deputy Sheriff Brown investigated
a report entailing the fact that several vehicles entered Township
Road 586, a dead end road, and had yet to return. When Deputy
Brown arrived, a lone suspect was standing next to his vehicle
with a cooler. Nicholas W. Murphy, age 18, 1195 Cornerville
Road, Reno, admitted the cooler was his and contained 17 cans
of beer. Deputy Brown arrested Mr. Murphy for underage possession
of alcohol and transported him to the Washington County Jail
where he was released on a personal recognizance bond.
On 26 Mar 04 Charles E. Atkinson, age 18, 1210
Barnett Road, Cutler, reported he was assaulted by an acquaintance
while inspecting his vehicle parked along State Route 676. This
case remains under investigation (1291).
On 26 Mar 04 a 16 year old Washington County resident
reported an acquaintance allegedly pointed a gun at his moving
vehicle after the two were involved in a fight at school. This
case remains under investigation (200).
On 26 Mar 04 Joe Adams, age 85, 1012 Hocking Road,
Belpre, reported a contractor has entered and damaged his property
without permission. This case remains under investigation (586).
On 26 Mar 04 an employee of Tom Stean Drilling
Company reported a Kohler Command 12 hp motor was stolen from
an oil well on Frost Road in Decatur Township. This case remains
under investigation (586).
On 26 Mar 04 Kevin G. Haught, age 38, 1665 County
House Lane, Marietta, reported an unknown suspect(s) stole a
sign reading “Slow Down, This Means You” from a
tree on his property. This case remains under investigation
(698).
On 26 Mar 04 Stacey M. Cole, age 18, 114 ½
Putnam Street Apt. 3, Marietta, reported on 3 Mar 04, her former
manager at ITC, State Route 7, Reno, verbally assaulted her
with profanity after she inquired about a payroll problem. This
case remains under investigation (232).
On 26 Mar 04 Deputy Sheriff Jenkins stopped a
vehicle on County Road 51 near State Route 7 for having a faulty
tail light. In speaking with the driver, Tyler J. McGlumphy,
age 19, 325 Muskingum River Road, Marietta, Deputy Jenkins noticed
an odor of alcohol and asked Mr. McGlumphy submit to a portable
breath test, which he passed. Being under the age of 21, Deputy
Jenkins arrested Mr. McGlumphy for underage consumption, issued
him a citation for stoplights required and transported him to
the Washington County Jail where he was released on a personal
recognizance bond.
the Sheriff’s Office
received the following warrants:
Harold L. Yoho, age 26, 1400 Smith Lane, Whipple,
for contempt for failing to appear at a court ordered hearing
on unpaid fines in the sum of $139.50. Yoho was originally charged
with failure to restrain a dog by the Dog Warden.
Ibrahim S. Tradre, age 25, 1905 Park Avenue, Guttenburg,
NJ, for contempt for failing to appear at a court ordered hearing
on unpaid fines in the sum of $210. Tradre was originally charged
with speeding by the Ohio State Highway Patrol.
Dewin B. Wilson, age 49, 3445 West 49th Street,
Cleveland, for contempt for failing to appear at a court ordered
hearing on unpaid fines in the sum of $260.
Jeffrey R. Voycik, age 21, Route 10 Box 494, Marietta,
for violating the terms of his probation by being arrested on
new charges of OVI and driving under suspension as well as failing
to complete court ordered counseling. Voycik was originally
charged with .03 - .096 blood alcohol content by the Ohio State
Highway Patrol.
Kenneth A. Cassada Jr., age 21, 115 Lawrence Street,
Marietta, for assault, as charged by Deputy Sheriff Simmons
on 14 Mar 04.
Rene A. Rudd, age 42, 717 Orchard Street, Marietta,
for failure to appear for a debtor’s exam, on 9 Jan 04
and for failure to appear at a contempt hearing on 3 Mar 04.
The following individuals
were processed into the Washington County Jail:
Elmer Dewitt Harvey Jr., age 26, for OVI, driving
under suspension, failure to register and driving without headlights,
all misdemeanors. Harvey was arrested on Church Street by Patrolman
Huffman of the Marietta City Police Department and processed
into the Washington County Jail on 26 Mar 04 at 1:40 am.
Tyler Jay McGlumphy, age 19, 325 Muskingum River
Road, Marietta, for underage consumption and driving without
tail lights, both misdemeanors. McGlumphy was arrested on County
Road 51 by Deputy Sheriff Jenkins of the Washington County Sheriff’s
Office and processed into the Washington County Jail on 26 Mar
04 at 2:30 am.
Daniel Dwayne Gaughan, age 37, Pennock Trailer
Court Lot 2, Beverly, for violating a protection order, a felony.
Gaughan was arrested at Pennock Court by Patrolman Skinner of
the Beverly Police Department and processed into the Washington
County Jail on 26 Mar 04 at 11:03 am.
Matthew Alan Hickin, age 33, State Route 681 East,
Pomeroy, OH, for possession of criminal tools and trafficking
in drugs, both misdemeanors. Hickin was arrested near the Athens
County Line by Lt. Canavan of the Washington County Sheriff’s
Office and processed into the Washington County Jail on 26 Mar
04 at 7:00 pm.
Michael Leland Luffman, age 23, 505 Branch Road,
Lowell, for trafficking in drugs. Luffman was arrested on East
Branch Road by Detective Warden of the Washington County Sheriff’s
Office and processed into the Washington County Jail on 26 Mar
04 at 9:15 pm.
Mark Aaron McIntyre, age 22, 223 Broughton Avenue,
Marietta, for criminal trespassing, a misdemeanor. McIntyre
was arrested at Colonial Terrace by Deputy Sheriff Huck of the
Washington County Sheriff’s Office and processed into
the Washington County Jail on 26 Mar 04 at 9:15 pm.
Nicholas W. Murphy, age 18, 1195 Cornerville Road,
Reno, for underage consumption, a misdemeanor. Murphy was arrested
on Alexander Road by Deputy Sheriff Brown of the Washington
County Sheriff’s Office and processed into the Washington
County Jail on 26 Mar 04 at 9:30 pm.
