On 25 Mar 04 Detective Wells began an investigation into the report of an unknown suspect impersonating a peace officer.

On 25 Mar 04 while investigating an unrelated crime, Gary Leach, age 51, 775 Germantown Road, Lower Salem, informed Detective Johnson that he was assaulted and suffered a broken jaw while visiting a residence at 249 Germantown Road. Witnesses confirmed the account of Mr. Leach and as a result, a warrant for the charge of felonious assault was issued for the arrest of Matthew J. Iman, age 36, 984 Coon Run Road, Lower Salem, who may have absconded the area bound for Maryland.

On 25 Mar 04 Deputy Sheriff Brown investigated a two vehicle accident in the parking lot of the Reno Volunteer Fire Department located at Browns Road and County Road 348. Cletus L. Crock, age 64, 155 Coal Run Road, Marietta, was backing in preparation to exit the lot in his GMC Sierra when he struck the front of a Pontiac Grand Prix owned by Leah L. McDaniel, 27758 State Route 7. Damage to both vehicles was minor.

On 25 Mar 04 Donna K. Fulton, age 50, 1220 McGrath Road, Macksburg, reported being a victim of domestic violence. This case remains under investigation (602).

On 25 Mar 04 Deputy Sheriff Jenkins issued a citation to Carl R. Yaney, age 43, 311 Montgomery Street, Marietta, for traveling 55 mph in a 40 mph zone. Deputy Jenkins stopped Mr. Yaney on State Route 7 near Township Road 279 in Warren Township.

On 25 Mar 04 Stephanie Scarborough, age 24, 35 Lawnsdale Road, Belpre, reported an acquaintance may have stolen $700 from her home between Wednesday and Thursday. This case remains under investigation (586).

On 25 Ma 04 James M. Mills, age 76, 197 Firehouse Lane, Lower Salem, reported between Wednesday and Thursday, an unknown suspect stole a day old Black Angus calf and left it bludgeoned a short distance away. This case remains under investigation (597).

On 25 Mar 04, Deputy Sheriff Brown responded to a call regarding a dispute between a Marietta woman and her teenage daughter over the daughter’s use of a car after receiving a speeding ticket. Deputy Brown’s investigation concluded no crime took place.

On 25 Mar 04 Leopold P. Guidry II, age 23, 18189 State Route 339, Waterford, reported while being housed in the Washington County Jail, he believes an acquaintance urinated in his water bottle prior to him consuming it. This case remains under investigation (1291).

On 25 Mar 04 a Marietta resident reported receiving an obscene phone call. An investigation indicated the call was made by an unknown subject in Kentucky. The victim did not desire to pursue charges (602).

On 25 Mar 04 Sherisha L. Sturm, age 20, 3055 Sandhill Road, Marietta, reported an acquaintance may have stolen four chrome, spinner rims, valued at $2,902, from her home between 10:30 and noon Thursday. This case remains under investigation (1291).

The Sheriff’s Office received the following warrants and indictments:

Lagarbia Johnson, age 28, no known address, for four third degree felony counts of trafficking in drugs, third degree felony counts of tampering with evidence and possession of drugs, a fourth degree felony count of trafficking in drugs and a first degree misdemeanor count of falsification.

Robert Matthew Parrish, age 27, 1177 Millers Lane, Marietta, a registered sex offender, for a third degree felony count of failure to provide notice of a change of residence.

Ricky D. Stevens, age 36, last known address 459 Front Street, Philo, OH, for a third degree felony count of trafficking in crack cocaine and a fifth degree felony count of possession of cocaine.

Heather Stevens, age 29, last known address 459 Front Street, Philo, OH, for a third degree felony count of trafficking in crack cocaine.

Aaron Hess, age 25, 205 Putnam Street, Marietta, a third degree felony count of burglary, fourth degree felony counts of theft and forgery, two fifth degree felony counts of forgery and a fifth degree felony count of theft.

Michael E. Heitkamp, age 40, last known address 1637 ½ 19th Street, Parkersburg, for a fifth degree felony count of the unauthorized use of a motor vehicle.

Thomas G. Banks, President, Hardwood Specialists, 1210 Whispering Meadow Court, New Albany, OH, for contempt for willful disobedience of a lawful order.

Ronnie D. Stewart, age 28, 507 Ferguson Street, Marietta, for breach of personal recognizance for failing to appear for a jury trial on 18 Mar 04.

Charles E. Walker Jr., age 25, 3936 State Route 550, Cutler, for violating the terms of his probation. Walker was originally charged with second offense OVI by the Ohio State Highway Patrol.

The following individuals were processed into the Washington County Jail:

Richard Dean Bailey, age 47, 300 Starlight Drive, Marietta, for contempt of a court order, a misdemeanor. Bailey was arrested at the Four Seasons by Patrolman Hearn of the Marietta City Police Department and processed into the Washington County Jail on 25 Mar 04 at 5:30 pm.

Dorothy Louise Metz, age 33, 704 Elm Street Apt. 9, Belpre, for domestic violence, a misdemeanor. Metz was arrested at her residence by Patrolman Sams of the Belpre City Police Department and processed into the Washington County Jail on 25 Mar 04 at 7:47 pm.
