On 22 Mar 04 Deputy Sheriff Mankins issued
a citation to Valerie L. Cooper, age 22, 200 Harrison Street,
Newport,
for failure to display a current registration sticker.
Deputy Mankins stopped Ms. Cooper on Fourth Street near Green
in Marietta.
On 22 Mar 04 Deputy Sheriff Brockmeier issued
a citation to James E. Wright, age 42, 296 North Route 2 Lot
130W, New Martinsville, WV, for traveling 55 mph in a 20 mph
zone. Deputy Brockmeier stopped Mr. Wright on State Route 7
near Frontier High School in Grandview Township.
On 22 Mar 04 Deputy Sheriff Gherke investigated a single vehicle
accident on Two Mile Road just south of Federal Road in Decatur
Township.
A 15-year-old male was driving his father’s truck with
a friend when he lost control of the truck, sliding off Two
Mile Road and striking an embankment, causing sustained non-functional
damage. Deputy Gherke issued a citation to the driver for operating
without a license and the juveniles reported no injuries.
On 22 Mar 04 a Marietta man reported an unidentified individual
has been repeatedly calling home and leaving messages on his
answering machine. This case remains under investigation (200).
On 22 Mar 04 Sgt. Underwood was dispatched to the home of Michelle
D Casto, age 31, 1424 Barth Road, Belpre, after Ms. Casto reported
she received a phone call from her ex-boyfriend from inside
her home. Ms. Casto stated she locked the doors as she left
and Shane M. Hardie, age 28, 6611 Pleasant Ridge Road, Marietta,
did not have permission to be in her home.
When Sgt. Underwood arrived at the scene he arrested Mr. Hardie
for burglary and transported him to the Washington County Jail.
On 22 Mar 04 Lt. Canavan and Deputy Sheriff Simmons were dispatched
to the home of Barbara A. Howell, age 26, 1308 Williamson Avenue
Apt. 5B, New Matamoras, OH to investigate a domestic violence
complaint.
Ms. Howell stated when her estranged husband Jeremy, age 28,
33199 State Route 260, Rinard Mills, dropped their son off,
he became belligerent and threatened to punch and kill his
wife.
Determining Mrs. Howell was in fear for her safety, Deputy
Simmons filed an affidavit requesting a warrant for Mr. Howell
for domestic
violence.
The following individuals
were processed into the Washington County Jail:
Timothy James Newbrough, age 20, 1038 Murdoch
Avenue Apt. 2, Parkersburg, for a felony charge of failure
to
appear and misdemeanor charges of possession of a controlled
substance, possession of drug paraphernalia, possession of
drugs,
theft and criminal mischief.
Newbrough was picked up at the North Central Regional Jail
in Charleston by Deputy Sheriff O’Brien of the Washington
County Sheriff’s Office and processed into the Washington
County Jail on 22 Mar 04 at 11:35 am.
Shane Michael Hardie, age 28, 6611 Pleasant Ridge Road Apt.
10, Marietta, for attempted burglary, a felony.
Hardie was arrested in Barlow by Deputy Sheriff Underwood of
the Washington County Sheriff’s Office and processed into
the Washington County Jail on 22 Mar 04 at 8:26 pm.
