On 21 Mar 04 Fred Jones, age 48, 2101 Two Mile
Run Road, Cutler, reported between 11 am Friday and 5:30 pm
Saturday, an unknown suspect(s) stole an Echo GT2000 weed eater
and a Poulin self-propelled lawn mower from his yard. This case
remains under investigation (1090).
On 21 Mar 04 Fred Jones, age 48, 2101 Two Mile
Run Road, Cutler, reported between 11 am Friday and 5:30 pm
Saturday, an unknown suspect(s) stole an Echo GT2000 weed eater

On 21 Mar 04 a Marietta woman reported her son was allegedly
shoved into a kitchen wall during a visitation with his father.
This case remains under investigation (200).
On 21 Mar 04 an Amesville resident turned in items he found
at milepost 1 County Road 99, including an Apple Computer monitor,
an Amdek monitor, an Apple word processor and four Apple 5.25”
floppy disk drives. This case remains under investigation. Anyone
with information concerning the owner of these items is requested
to call the Sheriff’s Office at 376-7070. (698).
On 21 Mar 04 Ireta M. Evans, age 71, 2035 Cornes Road, Little
Hocking, reported an juvenile acquaintance may have entered
her home without permission and stole a pair of her underwear.
This case remains under investigation (698).
Sgt. Underwood issued
the following citations:
On 21 Mar 04 to Brian D. Miller, age 24, 200
Miller Road, Waterford, for traveling 56 mph in a 40 mph zone
on State Route 7 in Warren Township.
On 21 Mar 04 to Michelene M. Barnett, age 25, 3634 Madison Road, Cincinnati,
for traveling 72 mph in a 55 mph zone on State Route 7 in Belpre Township.
On 21 Mar 04 to Judith K. Legleitner, age 43, 4040 Railroad Street, Belpre, for
driving under violator compact suspension and having fictitious registration,
while on State Route 618 in Belpre Township.
Deputy Sheriff Kapple issued the following
citations:
On 21 Mar 04 to Brian T. Sawyer, age 24, 313 Rose Road, Little
Hocking, for driving under a non-compliance suspension, while
on State Route 124 in Belpre Township.
On 21 Mar 04 to Jerald L. Jones, age 40, 63470 Arrowhead
Road, Cambridge, for traveling 69 mph in a 50 mph zone
eastbound on
US 50 in the city of Belpre.
On 21 Mar 04 while performing a routine
security check at Little Hocking Elementary School, Deputy
Sheriff
Kapple observed
four
juveniles grouped near the baseball field’s dugout
run away. One juvenile returned and stated he and his
friends intended
to graffiti the dugout.
The other juveniles were located and corroborated their
friend’s
story. Deputy Kapple subsequently filed affidavits
requesting summonses for the two 12 year old and 13
year old males
for being unruly.
On 21 Mar 04 Deputy Sheriff Evans was informed that
Mick D. Giffin, age 34, 19785 County Road 40, Caldwell,
was
consuming alcohol during visitation with his children
in Beverly, a
violation
of a temporary protection order. Upon his arrival in
Beverly, Mr. Giffin was nowhere to be found.
Mr. Giffin later arrived by car and stumbled out of
his vehicle and was slurring his speech.
Based on this evidence Deputy Evans arrested Mr. Giffin
for OVI and violating a protection order and transported
to the
Washington County Jail.
On 21 Mar 04 Sgt. Hiatt and Deputy Sheriff Mankins
were dispatched to 840 Pike Street Apt. 40, Marietta
in response
to a disturbance.
When they arrived, Steven T. Hupp, age 33, 108 Seneca
Drive, came staggering out of an apartment with a bloody
nose
and two
black eyes. Mr. Hupp informed Deputy Mankins he was
involved in a fight at the Locker Room in Marietta
and didn’t
have a ride home.
Deputy Mankins arrested Mr. Hupp for disorderly conduct
by intoxication and while en route to the Washington
County
Jail, stopped at
Marietta Memorial Hospital for treatment.
On 21 Mar 04 Jorita Batten, age 65, 1202 Williamson
Avenue, New Matamoras reported during the night a truck
was doing
donuts
in the grass on her property between Cline Street and
Parkway Townhouses in New Matamoras.
This case remains under investigation (500).
The following individuals
were processed into the Washington County Jail:
Kelly Marie Grayson, age 35, 50 Millers Lane,
Marietta, for failing to appear at a court ordered hearing on
unpaid fines, a misdemeanor. Grayson was arrested at her residence
by Sgt. Hiatt of the Washington County Sheriff’s Office
and processed into the Washington County Jail on 21 Mar 04 at
12:45 am.
Frederick Gale McKitrick, age 21, 403 Maple Street, Marietta,
for failing to appear at a court ordered hearing on unpaid fines,
a misdemeanor. McKitrick was arrested in Newport by Deputy Sheriff
Mankins of the Washington County Sheriff’s Office and
processed into the Washington County Jail on 21 Mar 04 at 1:47
am.
Steven Thomas Hupp, age 33, 108 Seneca Drive, Marietta, for
failing to appear at a court ordered hearing on unpaid fines
and disorderly conduct by intoxication, both misdemeanors.
Hupp was arrested at Sierra Apartments by Deputy Sheriff Mankins
of the Washington County Sheriff’s Office and processed
into the Washington County Jail on 21 Mar 04 at 4:55 am.
Mick Daniel Giffin, age 34, 19785 County Road 40, Caldwell,
for .17 breath OVI and violating the terms of a protection order,
both misdemeanors. Giffin was arrested in Beverly by Deputy
Sheriff Evans of the Washington County Sheriff’s Office
and processed into the Washington County Jail on 21 Mar 04 at
6:14 am.
