On 20 Mar 04 Deputy Sheriff Malone investigated
a hit-skip accident on Tennis Center Drive .1 miles west of
State Route 7 in Marietta Township.
An unidentified vehicle traveling westbound on Tennis Center
Drive ran off the right side of the roadway and struck a mailbox,
then continued on and struck a gas meter before reentering
the
roadway and fleeing the scene. This case remains under investigation.
On 20 Mar 04 Deputy Sheriff Jenkins investigated a two vehicle
accident in the parking lot of Napoli’s Pizza on State
Route 339 in Barlow Township. Holly A. Webb, age 30, 310 4th
Street, Beverly, was in the drive through of the business in
her Buick Century when she began backing and struck the front
of a Plymouth Voyager occupied by Amanda A. Randolph, age 25,
321 Stone Quarry Road, Fleming. Both vehicles sustained light
damage and each driver reported no injuries.
On 20 Mar 04 Deputy Sheriff Kapple was dispatched
to Just Another Muffler, West Street, Belpre, in response to
a possible breaking and entering in progress.
When he arrived, an 18-year-old male informed Deputy Kapple
that his 17-year-old friend scaled the wall of the business
in an attempt to steal parts for his vehicle.
The suspect traversed the wall again and admitted to the officers
he was attempting to steal vehicle parts.
The juvenile was released to the custody of his mother and
will be issued a summons to appear in Juvenile Court.
On 20 Mar 04 Deputy Sheriff Eddy initiated a traffic stop on
County Road 8 near State Route 821 after observing the driver
of a vehicle operating in a suspicious manner.
A computer check of the driver Steven P. Wagner, age 34, 11535
State Route 821, Lower Salem, indicated Mr. Wagner was driving
under a license suspended for non-payment of child support.
Noticing an odor of alcohol about the driver, Deputy Eddy requested
Mr. Wagner submit to field sobriety tests, on which he performed
poorly. Deputy Eddy arrested Mr. Wagner for OVI and driving
under suspension and transported him to the Washington County
Jail where he was released on a personal recognizance bond.
On 20 Mar 04 an employee of the Station Carryout
reported an unknown male entered the business and stole a 24-pack
of Bud Light. This case remains under investigation (698).
On 20 Mar 04 Henry T. Swartz, age 55, 555 Raceway Lane, Reno,
reported between 10 and 20 Mar an unknown suspect(s) entered
his home and stole a case of Mountain Dew and $170 in cash
and
change.
This case remains under investigation (500).
On 20 Mar 04 Deputy Sheriff Stackpole issued a
citation to Richard A. Weekley, age 59, Iron Station, NC, for
driving under a suspended license. Deputy Stackpole stopped
Mr. Weekley on State Route 7 near Eramet in Warren Township.
On 20 Mar 04 Deputy Sheriff Mankins stopped Shawn McSweeney,
age 38, 8145 Wrights Town Road, Glouster, OH, for failing to
signal a lane change on State Route 7 near Willow Island.
A computer check indicated Mr. McSweeney was driving under
suspension and he was consequently arrested and transported
to the Washington
County Jail.
Sgt. Underwood issued
the following citations:
On 20 Mar 04 to James D. Given, age 39, 124 Sheridan Circle,
Charleston, WV, for traveling 52 mph in a 40 mph zone on
State
Route 7 in Warren Township.
The following individuals
were processed into the Washington County Jail:
John Wayne Reasoner, age 38, 507 Cisler Lane,
Marietta, for domestic violence, a misdemeanor.
Reasoner was arrested at Colonial Terrace by Deputy Sheriff
Huck of the Washington County Sheriff’s Office and processed
into the Washington County Jail on 20 Mar 04 at 12:01 am.
Steven Paul Wagner, age 36, 11535 State Route 821, Lower Salem,
for .08 breath OVI and driving under suspension, both isdemeanors.
Wagner was arrested on State Route 821 by Deputy Sheriff
Eddy of the Washington County Sheriff’s Office and processed
into the Washington County Jail on 20 Mar 04 at 4:25 am.
Shawn McSweeney, age 38, 8145 Wrightstown Road, Glouster, OH,
for driving under suspension and failure to signal, both misdemeanors.
McSweeney was arrested on State Route 7 by Deputy Sheriff
Mankins of the Washington County Sheriff’s Office and
processed into the Washington County Jail on 20 Mar 04 at
8:45 pm.
