On 18 Mar 04 Deputy Sheriff Jenkins stopped a
vehicle after he noticed the driver travel to the right of the
edge line and fail to use its turn signal as he merged from
State Route 7 to US 50. Upon making contact with the driver
John William Hammond Jr., age 34, 3712 Schoolhouse Road, Little
Hocking, Deputy Jenkins noticed an odor of alcohol and Mr. Hammond's
bloodshot eyes. Mr. Hammond submitted to field sobriety tests,
on which he performed poorly, and was arrested for OVI and failure
to signal, then transported to the Washington County Jail.

On 18 Mar 04 Don Petry, age 55, 1629 Briggs Hill
Road, Belpre, reported he could not find his wallet after last
seeing it on 15 Mar 04. This case remains under investigation
(586).
On 18 Mar 04 Shirley Williams, 360 Brownsville Road, New Matamoras,
reported an unknown suspect(s) vandalized her truck, damaging
the windshield, breaking a light cover and antenna.
This case remains under investigation (597).
On 18 Mar 04 Deputy Sheriff Jenkins was dispatched to an area
near County Road 803 after a resident reported seeing three
males near an outbuilding on her property.
After a short foot pursuit Deputy Jenkins with the assistance
of other Deputies apprehended and detained the suspects. Computer
checks of the individuals showed two 16 year old males had
active
warrants and one was in possession of a bottle of vodka. The
two juveniles were transported to the Washington County Juvenile
Center pending notification of their parents.
The eldest of the three, Brandon Hoffert, age 19, 211 Main
Street, Macksburg, was arrested for multiple misdemeanors including
underage consumption, breach of recognizance, violating the
terms of his probation and contributing to the delinquency
of
a minor. Mr. Hoffert was transported to the Washington County
Jail and given the option to post bond.

16th Street, Parkersburg, for felony domestic violence, as charged
by Deputy Sheriff Norman on 13 Mar 04.
Aaron C. Goins, age 32, 22576 State Route 550,
Amesville, for violating a court ordered protection order, as
charged by Deputy Sheriff Gherke on 14 Feb 04.
James J. Carpenter, age 44, last known address

charged by Deputy Sheriff Norman on 13 Mar 04.
Aaron C. Goins, age 32, 22576 State Route 550, Amesville, for
violating a court ordered protection order, as charged by Deputy

were processed into the Washington County Jail:
Andrew Joseph Brooker, age 18, 705 BF Goodrich
Road, Marietta, for violating the terms of his probation, a
misdemeanor. Brooker was arrested on Gilman Avenue by Deputy
Sheriff Brockmeier of the Washington County Sheriff's Office
and processed into the Washington County Jail on 17 Mar 04 at
11:14 am.
Victoria Rose Moore, age 41, 2105 Hannah Road,
Marietta, for burglary, a felony. Moore was arrested on State
Route 26 by Deputy Sheriff Norman of the Washington County Sheriff's
Office and processed into the Washington County Jail on 17 Mar
04 at 4:30 pm.

Shaun Michael McFarland, age 24, 278 Ridgewood
Drive Apt. 1, Marietta, for violating the terms of his probation,
a misdemeanor. McFarland was arrested at his residence by Patrolman
Gragan of the Marietta City Police Department and processed
into the Washington County Jail on 18 Mar 04 at 6:11 pm.
Brandon Lee Hoffert, age 19, 211 Main Street, Macksburg, for
underage consumption, breach of recognizance, two counts of
violating the terms of his probation and three counts of contributing
to the delinquency or unruliness of a child, all misdemeanors.
Hoffert was arrested in Watertown by Deputy Sheriff Jenkins
of the Washington County Sheriff’s Office and processed
into the Washington County Jail on 18 Mar 04 at 6:49 pm.
