On 13 Mar 04 Lt. Canavan and Deputy Sheriff
Jenkins were dispatched to 337 Wells Road, Waterford, after
dispatchers
received a hang up 911 call from that location. Upon their
arrival, Cora Farmer, age 48, informed the Deputies her husband
Garin,
age 37, against whom she has a protection order, pushed her
over in a chair and continued to threaten and push her around
the kitchen. Subsequent to being asked to subdue himself, Mr.
Farmer repeatedly refused to be handcuffed until Lt. Canavan
utilized his Taser in order to apprehend Mr. Farmer.
Mr. Farmer was charged with domestic violence, violating a
protection order, resisting arrest and transported to the Washington
County
Jail where he is being held without bond.
On 13 Mar 04 Sgt. Underwood issued a citation
to Teruko Wanzo, age 75, 115 Barber Street, Marietta, for traveling
58 mph in a 40 mph zone. Sgt. Underwood stopped Mr. Wanzo on
State Route 7 near Township Road 591 in Warren Township.
On 13 Mar 04 Sgt. Underwood issued a citation to Ada Mayle,
age 58, 25380 Brimstone Road, Coolville, for traveling 51 mph
in a 40 mph zone. Sgt. Underwood stopped Ms. Mayle on State
Route 7 near Hanna Road in Warren Township.
On 13 Mar 04 Sgt. Underwood issued a citation to Mary L. Shingleton,
age 53, Route 1 Box 425, St. Marys, for traveling 53 mph in
a 40 mph zone. Sgt. Underwood stopped Ms. Shingleton on State
Route 7 near Township Road 591 in Warren Township.
On 13 Mar 04 Dianne Cisler, age 55, 2070 Rinard Mills Road,
New Matamoras, reported between 7:30 am and 5 pm on that day,
an unknown suspect(s) damaged the screens of seven windows and
the frame of the rear door of her church at 1293 Rinard Mills
Road.
This case remains under investigation (597).
On 13 Mar 04 Deputy Sheriff Jenkins initiated a traffic stop
near mile marker 14 on State Route 7 after he observed the
vehicle
he was following travel right of the white edge line three
times.
Upon making contact with the driver, Corey G. Kidd, age 24,
275 Radabaugh Road, Marietta, Deputy Jenkins noticed a strong
odor of alcohol. Subsequent to performing poorly on field sobriety
tests, Deputy Jenkins arrested Mr. Kidd for OVI and driving
outside marked lanes of travel and transported to the Washington
County Jail where he was released on a personal recognizance
bond.
On 13 Mar 04 Deputy Sheriff Norman was dispatched to the home
of Scott Carpenter, age 41, 836 Pike Street, Marietta, regarding
a domestic dispute. Upon his arrival, Deputy Norman was informed
that while speaking with his ex-wife, Mr. Carpenter’s
brother James, age 44, last known address 16th Street, Parkersburg,
accosted him and began hitting him with a pipe.
After sustaining injuries to his wrist, hip and chest, Scott
thwarted the attack and James fled the scene, throwing the
pipe
at Scott’s car before he left.
As a result, Deputy Norman filed an affidavit requesting a
warrant for James for domestic violence.
The following individuals
were processed into the Washington County Jail:
Robert Franklin Sweatte, age 35, 371 Avon Avenue,
Newark, NJ, for .08 breath OVI and speeding, both misdemeanors.
Sweatte was arrested on Interstate 77 by the Ohio State Highway
Patrol and processed into the Washington County Jail on 13 Mar
04 at 1:52 am.
Michelle Rae Oldfield, age 37, 123 Ward Street Lot 1, Marietta,
for failing to appear at a court ordered hearing on unpaid fines,
a misdemeanor. Oldfield was arrested at the Four Seasons by
Patrolman Huffman of the Marietta City Police Department and
processed into the Washington County Jail on 13 Mar 04 at 2:45
am.
Garin Matthew Farmer, age 37, 337 Wells Road, Waterford, for
felony charges of domestic violence and for violating a protection
order and a misdemeanor charge of resisting arrest. Farmer was
arrested at his residence by Lt. Canavan of the Washington County
Sheriff’s Office and processed into the Washington County
Jail on 13 Mar 04 at 3:10 am.
Corey Garrett Kidd, age 24, 275 Radabaugh Road, Marietta, for
.08 breath OVI and driving outside marked lanes of travel, both
misdemeanors. Kidd was arrested on County Road 3 by Deputy Sheriff
Jenkins of the Washington County Sheriff’s Office and
processed into the Washington County Jail on 13 Mar 04 at 5:21
am.
