On 12 Mar 04 Jared Huffman, age 28, 3118 Barnett Ridge Road, Fleming, reported an unknown suspect(s) stole two Yamaha ATV’S from a box trailer parked outside his home between 8 and 12 Mar 04.
This case remains under investigation (602).

On 12 Mar 04 Sgt. Hiatt issued a citation to Mona L. Mayle, age 35, 146 Dawes Circle, Marietta, for traveling 48 mph in a 20 mph zone. Sgt. Hiatt stopped Ms. Mayle on State Route 821 near Salem Liberty School in Salem Township.

On 12 Mar 04 Deputy Sheriff Eddy issued a citation to John A. Young Jr., age 25, 2252 Bartlett Road, Marietta, for traveling 31 mph in a 20 mph zone. Deputy Eddy stopped Mr. Young on State Route 550 near Warren Elementary School in Warren Township.

On 12 Mar 04 Deputy Sheriff Eddy issued a citation to Kathryn E. Miller, age 51, 63 Morris Drive, McConnellsville, for traveling 30 mph in a 20 mph zone. Deputy Eddy stopped Ms. Miller on State Route 550 near Bartlett Elementary School in Wesley Township.

On 12 Mar 04 Deputy Sheriff Mankins issued a citation to Lyndon W. Parsons, age 43, North Murphree Street, Bruse, MS, for traveling 46 mph in a 20 mph zone. Deputy Mankins stopped Mr. Parsons on State Route 7 near Frontier High School in Grandview Township.

On 12 Mar 04 Deputy Sheriff Evans issued a citation to Robert S. Scantland, age 19, 5 Woodyard Avenue, Parkersburg, for traveling 54 mph in a 40 mph zone. Deputy Evans stopped Mr. Scantland on State Route 7 in Warren Township.

On 12 Mar 04 an instructor at Frontier High School reported after leaving her coffee cup unattended, a student allegedly added a jelly-like substance used in painting, to her cup.
This case remains under investigation (296).

On 12 Mar 04 Kenneth Devaughn, age 19, an inmate in the Washington County Jail, reported to Deputy Sheriff Malone he was blindsided with a blow to his face by another inmate. Through eyewitness accounts, Deputy Malone determined the perpetrator of the assault was Roger Burkhart, age 18. Due to the fact he was already in jail, Deputy Malone could not transport Mr. Burkhart there and therefore served him with notification of an assault charge.

On 12 Mar 04 Deputy Sheriff Malone investigated a deer-vehicle collision on State Route 60 near mile marker 5. Robert G. Rhodes, age 26, 9235 State Route 60, Lowell, was northbound on State Route 60 with two passengers when he struck a deer with his 1992 Chevy Cavalier. The occupants escaped unharmed and Mr. Rhodes’ vehicle sustained only non-functional damage.

The following individuals were processed into the Washington County Jail:

Zackory Lee Durham, age 18, 1275 Bethel Road, Marietta, for OVI, no seatbelt and having fictitious plates, all misdemeanors. Durham was arrested on State Route 7 by the Ohio State Highway Patrol and processed into the Washington County Jail on 12 Mar 04 at 1:46 am.
