On 6 Mar 04 Lt. Canavan assisted the Ohio State
Highway Patrol, Cambridge Police Department and Guernsey County
Sheriff’s Office in the apprehension of a suspect fleeing
from the police. Successfully avoiding stop sticks several times
on Interstate 77, Lawrence Banks Jr., age 34, 2343 Rhoads Road
Columbus, was apprehended near mile marker 10 after running
over stop sticks deployed by the Highway Patrol.
On 6 Mar 04 Lt. Canavan and Deputy Sheriff Spencer were dispatched
to the home of Earl E. Carpenter Jr., age 25, 6180 Waterford
Road, Marietta, after Mr. Carpenter reported his intoxicated
live-in girlfriend Shana Iery, age 33, threw salt and sugar
shakers at him, hit him with a folding chair and threatened
him with a butcher knife.
As a result, Lt. Canavan filed an affidavit requesting a summons
for Ms. Iery for domestic violence, a violation of Section
2919.25A
of the Ohio Revised Code.
On 6 Mar 04 a Marietta woman reported receiving several harassing
phone calls from her ex-boyfriend.
As a result of his investigation, Deputy Sheriff Norman filed
an affidavit requesting a warrant for Robert J. Brotton Jr.,
age 37, last known address 107 Jefferson Drive, Caldwell, for
telephone harassment.
On 6 Mar 04 Deputy Sheriff Kapple responded to the report of
a fire at the Little Hocking Service Center, 751 Arrowhead Drive,
Little Hocking. The dryer fire was extinguished by the Little
Hocking Volunteer Fire Department prior to Deputy Kapple’s
arrival and was deemed to be accidental.
On 6 Mar 04, the Marietta City Police Department requested the
assistance of the Sheriff’s Office in searching a vehicle
for stolen stereo equipment on Sheets Run Road.
The following individuals
were processed into the Washington County Jail:
Robert Edward Carpenter, age 30, 931 Fifth Street,
Marietta, OH, was arrested at the Locker Room Bar Marietta,
OH, by Patrolman Huffman of the Marietta City Police Department
for Failure to appear on fines, a misdemeanor charge. Carpenter
was processed into the County Jail on 6 Mar 04 at 2:45 am.
Luke William Beebe, age 18, 425 Arends Ridge Road, Marietta,
OH, was arrested on Heiss Road by Deputy Sheriff Rhodes of the
Washington County Sheriff’s Office for Underage Consumption
of Alcohol, a misdemeanor charge. Beebe was processed into the
County Jail on 6 Mar 04 at 2:50 am.
Christopher Steve Russell, age 20, 1165 Lynch Church Road, Marietta,
OH was arrested on Heiss Road by Deputy Sheriff Rhodes of the
Washington County Sheriff’s Office for Underage Consumption
of Alcohol, a misdemeanor. Russell was processed into the County
Jail on 6 Mar 04 at 2:50 am.
Lawrence Banks Jr., age 35, 2342 Rhoads Avenue, Columbus, OH
was arrested on Interstate 77 by Deputy Sheriff Canavan of the
Washington County Sheriff’s Office for Failure to Comply
with Order or Signal of an Officer and Reckless Operation,
both
misdemeanor charges, and Probation Violation out of Common
Pleas Court, a felony charge.
Banks was processed into the County Jail on 6 Mar 04 at 4:24
am.
Denver Drew McCoy, age 49, 1421 Lancaster Street, Apartment
102D, Marietta, OH, was arrested at his residence by Marietta
Municipal Court Probation Officer Bosworth for Probation Violation,
a misdemeanor charge. McCoy was processed into the County Jail
on 6 Mar 04 at 9:00 PM.
Robert Wayland Patterson, age 21, 404 ½ Montgomery Street,
Marietta, OH was arrested at Colonial Terrace by Deputy Sheriff
Huck of the Washington County Sheriff’s Office for Contempt
(fines), a misdemeanor charge. Patterson was processed into
the County Jail on 6 Mar 04 at 11:30 PM.
