On 1 Mar 04 while patrol on Farson Street in Belpre, Deputy Sheriff Gherke observed two vehicles rev their engines and pull up to each other as they turned onto Washington Boulevard. Deputy Gherke initiated a traffic stop on both vehicles and issued citations to Joshua L. Miller, age 24, 11 ½ Main Street, Coolville, and Matthew P. Riley, age 19, Route 1 Box 281, Belleville, WV, for street racing under Section 4511.251 of the Ohio Revised Code.

On 1 Mar 04 Deputy Sheriff Mankins issued a citation to Robert O. Shepherd, age 45, 2267 Catbrier Way, Oviedo, FL, for traveling 55 mph in a 40 mph zone. Deputy Mankins stopped Mr. Shepherd on State Route 7 in Warren Township.

On 1 Mar 04 Deputy Sheriff Mankins issued a citation to James D. Harris, age 42, 20 Light Cap Road, Latrobe, PA, for traveling 56 mph in a 40 mph zone. Deputy Mankins stopped Mr. Harris on State Route 7 in Warren Township.

On 1 Mar 04 Deputy Sheriff Mankins issued a citation to Leland R. Close, age 51, Route 1 Box 63, Coolville, for traveling 60 mph in a 45 mph zone. Deputy Mankins stopped Mr. Close on State Route 7 in Warren Township.

On 1 Mar 04 Deputy Sheriff Mankins issued a citation to a 16 year old Vincent resident for traveling 52 mph in a 40 mph zone. Deputy Mankins stopped the juvenile on Warrior Road in Barlow Township.

On 1 Mar 04 Barbara Jackson, age 35, 1340 Patten Mills Road, Cutler, reported she believes an individual she has a protection order against turned around in her driveway. This case remains under investigation (597).

On 1 Mar 04 Clinton J. Fury, age 52, 427 Barnett Ridge Road, Belpre, reported an unknown suspect(s) stole several rolls of electrical wire, conduit, steel beams and various fencing parts from his property on 28 Feb 04. This case remains under investigation (296).

On 1 Mar 04 Sgt. Hiatt and Lt. Huffer were dispatched to the home of Seth T. Adams, age 18, 8471 Germantown Road, Lower Salem, regarding a domestic dispute. Mr. Adams stated, and witnesses concur, that he and his brother Roger, age 20, same address, were involved in an altercation over settling a debt and it escalated when Roger chased his brother out of the residence, threw a large tool toward and repeatedly threatened him. As a result Sgt. Hiatt arrest Roger for domestic violence and transported him to the Washington County Jail where he requested Mr. Adams be held without bond.

On 1 Mar 04 Larry T. Grim, age 37, 1310 Dugan Road, Belpre, reported his wife left for work and didn’t contact him until 29 Feb. She then informed him she was on her way to California. This case remains under investigation (698).

On 1 Mar 04 an employee of Family Ford, 909 Pike Street, Marietta, reported over the weekend an unknown suspect broke the left rear window of a Toyota 4-Runner and removed the stereo. This case remains under investigation (1091).

On 1 Mar 04 Deputy Sheriff Norman was dispatched to the Washington County Juvenile Detention Center after a report that a counselor was assaulted by a juvenile inmate. Subsequent to confirming eyewitness accounts and the juvenile’s admission, Deputy Norman filed an affidavit requesting a summons for the 15 year old juvenile.

the Sheriff’s Office received the following warrants:

Ricky D. Hines, age 42, County Road 76 Box 35071, Macksburg, for contempt for failure to appear at a court ordered hearing on unpaid fines in the sum of $198. Hines was originally charged with driving under a suspended license by the New Matamoras Police Department.

Monica Y. Stockwell, age 23, 2903 Beverly Street Apt. 9H, Parkersburg, WV, for domestic violence, assault and aggravated burglary, as charged by Deputy Sheriff Jenkins on 27 Feb 04.

The following individuals were processed into the Washington County Jail:

Alan Densmore Mills, age 41, 2204 Ames Avenue, Belpre, for violating the terms of his probation, a misdemeanor. Mills was arrested at the office of Probation Officer Ketelsen and processed into the Washington County Jail on 1 Mar 04 at 8:26 am.

Leroy Junior Clark, age 28, 713 Front Street, Marietta, for contempt of a court order, a misdemeanor. Clark was arrested on Gibbons Street by Sgt. Hiatt of the Washington County Sheriff’s Office and processed into the Washington County Jail on 1 Mar 04 at 9:40 am.

Roger Arron Adams, age 20, 8471 Germantown Road, Lower Salem, for domestic violence, a misdemeanor. Adams was arrested on Germantown Road by Sgt. Hiatt of the Washington County Sheriff’s Office and processed into the Washington County Jail on 1 Mar 04 at 1:00 pm.

Monica Y. Stockwell, age 23, 2903 Beverly Street Apt. 9H, Parkersburg, WV, for misdemeanor charges of domestic violence and assault and a felony charge of aggravated burglary. Stockwell turned herself in to Deputy Sheriff Gherke of the Washington County Sheriff’s Office and was processed into the Washington County Jail on 1 Mar 04 at 7:26 pm.
