On 28 Feb 04 Deputy Sheriff Rhodes investigated a single vehicle accident on State Route 7, one tenth of a mile north of County Road 14. The 16 year old driver of a Dodge Neon was southbound on State Route 7 when he dozed off momentarily and drifted across the centerline of the road. While attempting to correct his steering, he lost control of his vehicle and slid into a field off the northbound side of the road. The juvenile reported no injuries and the vehicle and field sustained minor damage.

On 28 Feb 04 while on patrol on State Route 550, Deputy Sheriff Jenkins observed an oncoming vehicle cross the centerline. Upon making contact with the driver, Kimberly Sue Donahue, age 45, PO Box 174, Bartlett, Deputy Jenkins was informed Ms. Donahue had a suspended license and the license plates on her vehicle were not registered as such. Deputy Jenkins then arrested Ms. Donahue for driving under suspension, having fictitious plates and driving upon the left side of the road and transported her to the Washington County Jail where she was released on a personal recognizance bond.

On 28 Feb 04 Sgt. Jobes investigated a single vehicle accident at Jennison Avenue Ext. 1, Beverly. Brian K. Kapple, age 33, operating a Washington County Sheriff’s Office vehicle was turning right from a private drive onto another private drive at the aforementioned address and struck a rock located at the corner between the two drives. The car sustained minor damage and no injuries were reported.

On 28 Feb 04 Thomas Watkins, 304 Poinciana Drive, Newport, reported a girl’s mountain bike was left at the Grace Baptist Church at 101 Masonic Park Road and has remained there a week. Deputy Sheriff Gherke took possession of the bike pending location of its owner.

On 28 Feb 04 Deputy Sheriff Stackpole was dispatched to 2264 Two Mile Road, Cutler, to field a complaint regarding a domestic dispute. Through an investigation, Deputy Stackpole learned that Timothy J. Runnion, age 38, was intoxicated and threatened to harm himself.
Deputy Stackpole arrested Mr. Runnion for disorderly conduct and transported him to the Washington County Jail where he was released after sobering and an evaluation by Health Recovery Services.

On 28 Feb 04 a Marietta woman reported her 16 year old daughter was at her house while the mother was out of town. This case remains under investigation (200).

On 28 Feb 04 Deputy Sheriffs Rhodes and Brown were dispatched to Fatals Bar, State Route 60, Lowell, in response to a bar fight. A witness stated an employee assisting in closing the bar was tackled by a patron while performing his duties. Further details of the incident are unclear at this time, thus this case is open pending further investigation.

On 28 Feb 04 the mother of a 10 year old Beverly boy reported her son heard a gunshot while exploring the woods on someone else’s property. This case was investigated and determined to be unfounded (602).

On 28 Feb 04 Deputy Sheriff Jenkins stopped a vehicle for failing to use its turn signal. Upon making contact with the driver, Robin L. Walters, age 42, 429 Anderson Road, Fleming, Deputy Jenkins noticed an odor of alcohol. Ms. Walters submitted to a series of field sobriety tests, on which she performed poorly. Deputy Jenkins arrested Ms. Walters for OVI and transported her to the Washington County Jail where she was released on a personal recognizance bond. The two passengers in the vehicle admitted consuming alcohol underage and Deputy Jenkins filed affidavits requesting summonses for Archie O. Hamrick, age 19, 560 McGill Road, Vincent, and Jeremy D. Pinkerton, age 19, 129 Radabaugh Road, Marietta, for underage consumption of alcohol.

On 28 Feb 04, Deputy Sheriff Brown responded to the report of a fire at a residence located at 100 Kesselring Road, Newport. No injuries were reported however the home was a total loss. This incident remains under investigation.

The following individuals were processed into the Washington County Jail:

Christopher Shawn Hill, age 32, 857 Southland Cemetery Road, Cutler, for driving under suspension, a misdemeanor. Hill was arrested on State Route 555 by Deputy Sheriff Jenkins of the Washington County Sheriff’s Office and processed into the Washington County Jail on 28 Feb 04 at 12:01 am.

Robin Lynn Walters, age 42, 429 Anderson Road, Fleming, for .08 breath OVI and failure to signal, both misdemeanors. Walters was arrested on US 50 by Deputy Sheriff Jenkins of the Washington County Sheriff’s Office and processed into the Washington County Jail on 28 Feb 04 at 4:55 am.

Timothy Jerome Runnion, age 38, 2264 Two Mile Run Road, Cutler, for disorderly conduct by intoxication, a misdemeanor. Runnion was arrested at his residence by Deputy Sheriff Stackpole of the Washington County Sheriff’s Office and processed into the Washington County Jail on 28 Feb 04 at 9:04 pm.

Kimberly Sue Donahue, age 45, PO Box 174, Bartlett, for driving under suspension, having fictitious plates and driving upon the left side of the road, all misdemeanors. Donahue was arrested on State Route 555 by Deputy Sheriff Jenkins of the Washington County Sheriff’s Office and processed into the Washington County Jail on 28 Feb 04 at 11:35 pm.
