On 23 Feb 04 Deputy Sheriff Mankins issued a citation to Richard D. Shingleton II, age 23, Route 39 Box 198 A, St Marys, WV, for traveling 55 mph in a 40 mph zone. Deputy Mankins stopped Mr. Shingleton on State Route 7 in Newport Township.

On 23 Feb 04 Deputy Sheriff Mankins issued a citation to Cathleen Hockenberry, age 26, 30825 State Route 7, Marietta, for traveling 71 mph in a 55 mph zone. Deputy Mankins stopped Ms. Hockenberry on State Route 7 in Newport Township.

On 23 Feb 04 Trent Roberts, age 36, 1589 Penn Street, Pennsville, OH, reported during the weekend, a window of his and another’s truck were broken and stereo equipment and tools were stolen from inside. This case remains under investigation (296).

On 23 Feb 04 an employee at Stone Bridge Operating Company, 1635 Warren Chapel Road, Marietta, reported during the weekend, an unknown suspect(s) forcibly entered the business and stole a container of change and a 2002 Kawasaki Bayou 220 ATV. This case remains under investigation (200).

On 23 Feb 04 an employee of Veto Motors, Veto Lake Road, Belpre, reported during the weekend, an unknown suspect(s) stole four polished wheels off a totaled vehicle parked at the business. This case remains under investigation (232).

On 23 Feb 04 Dean L. Jett, age 52, 2067 Burnfield Road, Vincent, reported while his truck was parked at Merchant’s Five Star Trucking, State Route 7, Marietta, an unknown suspect(s) broke the driver’s side window. This case remains under investigation (232).

On 23 Feb 04 Laura M. Mitchell, age 39, 15 Mill Street, Vincent, reported an unknown suspect used her social security number to open an account with a Columbus electric company. This case remains under investigation (232).

The following individuals were processed into the Washington County Jail:

William Joseph Dawson, age 20, 413 13 th Street Apt. B, Parkersburg, WV, for driving under suspension, operating with plates belonging to the former owner and possession of drug paraphernalia, all misdemeanors. Dawson was arrested on Washington Boulevard by Patrolman Wilson of the Belpre City Police Department and processed into the Washington County Jail on 23 Feb 04 at 6:15 pm.

Brian Kenneth Bednarski, age 37, 3728 Erin Avenue, Cleveland, OH, for OVI, driving under suspension and speeding, all misdemeanors. Bednarski was arrested on Interstate 77 by the Ohio State Highway Patrol and processed into the Washington County Jail on 23 Feb 04 at 8:39 pm.
