On 22 Feb 04 Deputy Mankins filed an affidavit
requesting a summons for a 15 year old Little Hocking boy for
being delinquent. Deputy Mankins filed the affidavit succeeding
an incident in which the juvenile entered Par Mar #14 and consumed
Little Debbie snack cakes without paying.
On 22 Feb 04 Phillip Washburn, age 56, 600 Masonic
Park Road, Marietta, reported sometime between 2 and 6 pm on
22 Feb, an unknown suspect stole his Motorola cellular phone
from his unlocked vehicle. This case remains under investigation
(296).
On 22 Feb 04 a Deputy Sheriff observed a fire damaged campaign
sign on County Road 4 at milepost 2. This case remains under
investigation (200).
On 22 Feb 04 an employee of Par Mar, 66 Arrowhead Road, Little
Hocking, reported several juveniles entered the store and left
with four Little Debbie snack cakes without paying.
This case remains under investigation (296).
On 22 Feb 04 the mother of a 17 year old Marietta girl reported
her daughter had yet to return home from work.
The juvenile later returned unharmed (1184).
On 22 Feb 04 Deputy Sheriff Mankins issued a citation to Shawn
Mallett, age 31, 214 Third Street, Lowell, for traveling 56
mph in a 40 mph zone and failure to use a child safety seat.
Deputy Mankins stopped Mr. Pollack on State Route 7 in Warren
Township.
On 22 Feb 04 Deputy Sheriff Evans responded to a report of
the death of an 82 year old Amesville man.
No foul play is suspected, the death appears to be due to natural
causes.
On 22 Feb 04 Deputy Sheriff Evans responded to a report of
the death of a 95 year old Marietta woman.
No foul play is suspected, the death appears to be due to natural
causes.
On 22 Feb 04 Sgt. Hiatt was dispatched to a Warren Township
residence after an Ohio Valley cab driver reported a fare paying,
intoxicated man passed out in his back seat.
After being shaken and screamed at, William D. West, age 44,
18191 State Route 550, Marietta, finally awoke and was unable
to remember where he lived. Sgt. Hiatt arrested Mr. West for
disorderly conduct by intoxication and transported him to the
Washington County Jail where he was held for eight hours then
given the option to post bond.
On 22 Feb 04 Shawn Gill, age 24, 836 Pike Street Apt. 1, Marietta,
reported an unknown suspect stole a CD player and two speakers
from his car. Deputy Sheriff Norman later determined a friend
of Mr. Gill took the items as a joke. The friend subsequently
returned the items, case closed.
On 22 Feb 04 Jessie Ross, age 34, 975 Tadpole Road, Belpre,
reported an acquaintance has been driving past her residence
shouting obscenities. This case remains under investigation
(1090).

were processed into the Washington County Jail:
Brenda Kay Ashworth, age 41, 250 Gihon Village
Apt. 138, Parkersburg, WV, for OVI, driving outside the marked
lanes of travel and no seat belt, all misdemeanors.
Ashworth was arrested on State Route 60 by the Ohio State Highway
Patrol and processed into the Washington County Jail on 22
Feb
04 at 1:05 am.
Thomas Edward Huggins, age 50, State Route 60, Lowell, for
violating his parole, a misdemeanor.
Huggins was arrested on State Route 60 by the Ohio State Highway
Patrol and processed into the Washington County Jail on 22
Feb
04 at 1:05 am.
Shirley Jean Kuhn, age 50, 3128 State Route 550, Bartlett, for
OVI and driving left of center, both misdemeanors. Kuhn was
arrested on State Route 550 by Deputy Sheriff Rhodes of the
Washington County Sheriff’s Office and processed into
the Washington County Jail on 22 Feb 04 at 2:15 am.
Rodney Eugene Hollins, age 43, 2710 State Route 83, Beverly,
for .17 breath OVI and driving outside the marked lanes of travel,
both misdemeanors. Hollins was arrested on State Route 60 by
the Ohio State Highway Patrol and processed into the Washington
County Jail on 22 Feb 04 at 3:30 am.
William Douglas West, age 44, 18191 State Route 550, for disorderly
conduct by intoxication, a misdemeanor.
West was arrested in Marietta by Sgt. Hiatt of the Washington
County Sheriff’s Office and processed into the Washington
County Jail on 22 Feb 04 at 8:55 pm.
