On 16 Feb 04 a woman who works in Marietta reported she believed a coworker was spying on her in the ladies restroom at their office.
This case remains under investigation (501).

On 16 Feb 04, Deputy Mankins began an investigation into the death of a 73 year old Marietta man. The death appears to be of natural causes and no foul play is suspected.

On 16 Feb 04 Deputy Sheriff Mankins issued a citation to Buddy E. Pardine, age 45, 146 Thorn Ridge Road, Friendly, WV, after Mr. Pardine failed to stop while turning from the St. Marys bridge onto State Route 7 in Newport.

On 16 Feb 04 Deputy Sheriff Mankins issued a citation to Felicia Smith, age 19, 162 Dawes Circle, Marietta, for traveling 68 mph in a 55 mph zone on State Route 7 near Willow Island.

On 16 Feb 04 Greg Hardman, age 40, 515 Aurora Street, Marietta, came to the Sheriff’s Office and reported to Deputy Sheriff Norman he and his friend Jill Stalnaker, age 37, 515 Aurora Street, were threatened by Jill’s husband Jonathan Stalnaker, age 33, 294 Salster Road, Marietta, while visiting 1435 Cole-Coffman Road. The two stated they were in fear for their safety and believed Mr. Stalnaker would cause them serious physical harm. As a result, Deputy Norman filed an affidavit requesting a warrant for Mr. Stalnaker for aggravated menacing and domestic violence.

The following individuals were processed into the Washington County Jail:

Tiffany Lynn Morrison, age 33, 733 Eighth Street, Marietta, for failure to confine or restrain a dog, a misdemeanor. Morrison was arrested at her residence by Deputy Sheriff Sears of the Washington County Sheriff’s Office and processed into the Washington County Jail on 16 Feb 04 at 10:00 am.
