On 15 Feb 04 Sgt. Hiatt and Deputy Sheriff Hiatt
were dispatched to 506 McDonald Run Road, Waterford, to investigate
an assault complaint. Through the course of their investigation,
Deputy Stackpole learned Mark A. King, age 43, his wife and
several friends were playing cards in the kitchen of his residence
when John H. Hart, age 34, 1575 Tick Ridge Road, Vincent, became
belligerent and yearned to fight.
Steadfast, Mr. King remained in his seat and was pushed over
by Mr. Hart. In an attempt to thwart further attacks, Mr. King
retrieved a muzzleloader from his bedroom to hasten Mr. Hart’s
exit.
Not threatening to use or pointing the weapon at Mr. Hart,
Mr. Hart struck Mrs. King then usurped the weapon and struck
Mr.
King in the head, causing a minor laceration.
Mrs. King was finally able to push Mr. Hart out the door and
phone for help. Sgt. Hiatt and Deputy Stackpole quickly located
Mr. Hart groveling in a crawl space under the house and took
him into custody without incident.
Mr. Hart was then transported to the Washington County Jail
where he is being held on a cash bond.
On 15 Feb 04 Reginald Radabaugh, age 54, 50 Second
Street, Vincent, reported an unknown suspects(s) entered his
unlocked 1982 Chevy truck and stole a Pioneer speaker, two
Audiovox
speakers and two amplifiers between 4 pm Friday and 2 pm Sunday
afternoon.
This case remains under investigation (107).
On 15 Feb 04 Sgt. Jobes and Deputy Sheriff McLeish were dispatched
to 90 Chloe Lane, Little Hocking, to field a domestic violence
complaint. Through an investigation, the Deputies surmised Kenneth
M. Schneller, age 28, was assaulted by his live in girlfriend
Elizabeth Hamilton, age 22, during an argument over $20. Ms.
Hamilton was arrested for domestic violence, transported to
the Washington County Jail and released on a personal recognizance
bond.
On 15 Feb 04 Sara M. Burke, age 24, 602 Tenth Street, Marietta,
reported her former fiancé may have stolen a fifty inch
big screen television, a Playstation 2 and several games from
their former residence on Township Road 274 in Marietta.
This case remains under investigation (684).

were processed into the Washington County Jail:
Chadwick Lynn Smearman, age 22, 872 Smithhill
Road, Marietta, for failure to appear at a court ordered hearing
on unpaid fines, a misdemeanor. Smearman was arrested at the
Four Seasons by Patrolman McCracken of the Marietta City Police
Department and processed into the Washington County Jail on
15 Feb 04 at 1:48 am.
Kelly Duane Beaver, age 45, 819 Ridge Street, Marietta, for
violation of a protection order, a misdemeanor.
Beaver was arrested at his residence by Patrolman Sury of the
Marietta City Police Department and processed into the Washington
County Jail on 15 Feb 04 at 2:15 am.
Roger Lee Ward Jr., age 25, 1225 Weppler Road, Lowell, for violating
the terms of his probation, a misdemeanor. Ward was arrested
on Front Street by Patrolman Huffman of the Marietta City Police
Department and processed into the Washington County Jail on
15 Feb 04 at 2:20 am.
Norman Daniel Kronmiller, age 18, 652 Hermitage Street, Philadelphia,
PA, for underage consumption of alcohol, resisting arrest and
obstructing official business, all misdemeanors.
Kronmiller was arrested on Third Street by Patrolman McCracken
of the Marietta City Police Department and processed into the
Washington County Jail on 15 Feb 04 at 3:45 am.
John Henry Hart, age 34, 1575 Tick Ridge Road, Vincent, for
felony charges of assault and a probation violation and misdemeanor
assault. Hart was arrested on McDonald Road by Deputy Sheriff
Hiatt of the Washington County Sheriff’s Office and processed
into the Washington County Jail on 15 Feb 04 at 5:00 am.
Elizabeth Ann Hamilton, age 22, 90 Chloe Lane, Little Hocking,
for domestic violence, a misdemeanor. Hamilton was arrested
at her residence by Deputy Sheriff Jobes of the Washington County
Sheriff’s Office and processed into the Washington County
Jail on 15 Feb 04 at 12:10 pm.
Erica Dawn Shafer, age 25, 851 Southgate Trailer Park Lot 36,
Reno, for theft, and operating without a license, both misdemeanors.
Shafer was arrested at her residence by Deputy Sheriff Rhodes
of the Washington County Sheriff’s Office and processed
into the Washington County Jail on 15 Feb 04 at 3:01 pm.
Steven Richard Ross, age 48, 709 ½ Center Street, Beverly,
for domestic violence, a misdemeanor.
Ross was arrested at his residence by Patrolman Oliver of the
Beverly Police Department and processed into the Washington
County Jail on 15 Feb 04 at 5:00 pm.
Matthew Bradley Cornell, age 19, 312 Scott Avenue, Belpre, for
violating the terms of his probation, a misdemeanor. Cornell
was arrested in Belpre by Patrolman Williams of the Belpre City
Police Department and processed into the Washington County Jail
on 15 Feb 04 at 5:10 pm.
