On 13 Feb 04 Donald E. Shahan, age 67, 1350 Stratford
Street, Barberton, OH, reported a local couple obtained his
social security number without permission, and used it in 2001
to purchase a 2001 Mustang from Rivertown Motors. This case
remains under investigation (684).
On 13 Feb 04 a 17 year old Marietta girl reported she had not
seen or heard from her mother Penny L. Harriman, age 35, 527
Mitchell Avenue, Beverly, since 12 Feb 04.
Ms. Harriman was last seen at the Fox Den with Brian Miller
wearing blue jeans and a tan wool sweater.
This case remains under investigation (296).
On 13 Feb 04 Deputy Sheriff Rhodes issued a citation
to a 16 year old Washington County Career Center student for
underage possession of tobacco after the assistant principal
found smokeless tobacco and cigarettes in the possession of
the student.
On 13 Feb 04, the father of a 15 year old Marietta girl requested
charges be filed against his daughter for being unruly. The
father stated on several occasions his daughter lied to him
about where she was going and who she was going with. In accordance
with the father’s wishes, Deputy Sheriff Huck filed an
affidavit requesting a summons for the girl for being unruly.
On 13 Feb 04 Deputy Sheriff Evans responded to the report of
the death of a 67 year old Marietta woman.
Foul play is not suspected, yet the woman was sent to Montgomery
County for an autopsy.
This case remains under investigation.
On 13 Feb 04 Sgt. Underwood and Deputy Sheriff
Gherke were dispatched to 300 Starlite Drive Lot 23, Marietta,
after Sarah Deaton, age 24, reported she was assaulted by her
brother Jonathon Deaton, age 22. Deputies ascertained that
when
Ms. Deaton returned home she began to berate her brother for
his apathetic attitude regard household chores.
The scolding escalated into a fight when Mr. Deaton threw the
television remote, narrowly missing his sister.
While Ms. Deaton attempted to stand from the couch Mr. Deaton
shoved her down from the face and proceeded to pin her using
his body weight. The situation lulled before Deputies arrived
and succeeding their investigation, arrested Mr. Deaton for
domestic violence and transported him to the Washington County
Jail.
On 13 Feb 04 Michelle Wendelken, age 24, 10440 Veto Road, Belpre,
reported after a neighbor informed her a suspect was rummaging
through her Dodge Durango, she noticed her wallet was missing.
This case remains under investigation (1090).
On 13 Feb 04 Brian Rippeto, age 47, PO Box 383,
Little Hocking, reported while opening his mail on 11 Feb he
observed what appeared to be a mist of some sort emanating from
the envelope.
This case remains under investigation (501).
The following individuals were
processed into the Washington County Jail:
Jonathon Lewis Deaton, age 22, 112 Hillsboro Drive,
Marietta, for domestic violence, a misdemeanor. Deaton was arrested
at his residence by Deputy Sheriff Gherke of the Washington
County Sheriff’s Office and processed into the Washington
County Jail on 13 Feb 04 at 1:50 am.
Christopher J. Pinkerton, age 27, 52022 Hillview
Lane, Jacobsburg, OH, for failure to appear at a court ordered
hearing on unpaid fines, a misdemeanor. Pinkerton was picked
up in Monroe County by Deputy Sheriff Brown of the Washington
County Sheriff’s Office and processed into the Washington
County Jail on 13 Feb 04 at 6:25 pm.
Roger Neil Daugherty, age 46, 407 Montgomery Street, Marietta,
for failure to appear at a court ordered hearing, a misdemeanor.
Kovacs was picked up in Erie County Deputy Sheriff Day of the
Washington County Sheriff’s Office and was processed into
the Washington County Jail on 13 Feb 04 at 6:40 pm.
Robert Michael Neilson, age 54, 141 Rauch Drive, Marietta, for
violating the terms of his probation, a misdemeanor. Neilson
was arrested on Rauch Drive by Deputy Sheriff Hiatt of the Washington
County Sheriff’s Office and processed into the Washington
County Jail on 13 Feb 04 at 9:50 pm.
