On 4 Feb 04 Deputy Sheriff Norman investigated a hit-skip accident on the property of Tim Mincks, 12270 State Route 60, Lowell. Between 10 pm and 1 am last night, an unidentified vehicle struck the garage door and fled the scene. This incident remains under investigation.

On 4 Feb 04 Steve Farley, age 58, 125 Hillsboro Drive, Marietta, reported the theft of eight payroll checks totaling $2,080 from his home. This case remains under investigation (296).

On 4 Feb 04, Deputy Sheriff Brown performed a welfare check on the residents of a Devola home. It was reported the owner’s family left several days ago and the garage door remained open. A neighbor informed Deputy Brown the family was on vacation.

On 4 Feb 04 Deputy Sheriffs Rhodes and Jenkins were dispatched to Par Mar # 14 on US 50 in Belpre in response to a theft complaint. When they arrived the suspect, Ginger Moyers, age 32, PO Box 1202, Parkersburg, WV, was standing outside the business smoking. Upon speaking with her, Ms. Moyers admitted taking a necklace and ring without paying. Further, Deputies found Ms. Moyers was, in fact smoking marijuana when they arrived. Ms. Moyers was arrested for theft and possession of marijuana and transported to the Washington County Jail where she was given the option to post bond.

the Sheriff’s Office received the following warrants:

Matthew R. Jett, age 18, PO Box 275, Lowell, for contempt for failure to appear at a court ordered hearing on unpaid fines in the sum of $242. Jett was originally charged with operating without a license by Deputy Sheriff Kapple.

Robert M. Parrish, age 27, Route 2 Box 157, Rinard Mills, for contempt for failure to appear at a court ordered hearing on unpaid fines in the sum of $120. Parrish was originally charged with disorderly conduct by Patrolman Huffman.

Richard J. Orwig, age 38, 2255 Lake Road, Akron, for contempt for failure to appear at a court ordered hearing on unpaid fines in the sum of $498.50. Orwig was originally charged with OVI.

The following individuals were processed into the Washington County JaiL:

William Alfred McGrew, age 63, 105 Leland Avenue, Marietta, for criminal trespassing, a misdemeanor. McGrew was arrested at the Four Seasons by Patrolman Huffman of the Marietta City Police Department and processed into the Washington County Jail on 4 Feb 04 at 1:50 am.

Teresa Ginger Moyers, age 32, Route 1 Box 123B, Walker, WV, for theft and possession of drugs, both misdemeanors. Moyers was arrested at Par Mar by Deputy Sheriff Rhodes of the Washington County Sheriff’s Office and processed into the Washington County Jail on 4 Feb 04 at 10:30 am.

Keith Ray Myers Sr., age 56, 380 Second Street, Pomeroy, OH, for theft, a felony. Myers was picked up in Athens by Deputy Sheriff Underwood of the Washington County Sheriff’s Office and processed into the Washington County Jail on 4 Feb 04 at 3:45 pm.

Christopher Lee Smith, age 23, 1854 Cameron Avenue, Parkersburg, WV, for a violation of his probation, a misdemeanor.
Smith was arrested at the Marietta Probation Office by Probation Officer Hamilton and processed into the Washington County Jail on 4 Feb 04 at 3:50 pm.
