On 1 Feb 04 Deputy Sheriff Norman issued a citation to Sally J. Heiss, age 32, Route 1 Box 31, Waterford, for driving under FRA suspension. Deputy Norman stopped Ms. Heiss on Chamberlain drive after he observed the front license plate missing from her vehicle.

On 1 Feb 04 Deputy Sheriff Spencer stopped a vehicle on suspicion of drunk driving. Thereafter speaking with the three male occupants, the 24 year old driver was determined to be sober while the 19 and 15 year old passengers admitted consuming alcohol. Charges are forthcoming in Marietta Municipal and Juvenile Court.

On 1 Feb 04 the Sheriff’s Office began an investigation into the death of a Belpre resident. Detectives found no suspicious circumstances and the death appears to be due to natural causes (501).

On 1 Feb 04 the Sheriff’s Office began an investigation into the death of an elderly Beverly resident. Foul play is not suspected and the body was sent to Montgomery County for an autopsy (1191).

The following individuals were processed into the Washington County Jail:

Heather Leanne Myers, age 18, 610 Montgomery Street, Marietta, for underage consumption of alcohol, a misdemeanor. Myers was arrested in Coal Run by Deputy Sheriff Mankins of the Washington County Sheriff’s Office and processed into the Washington County Jail on 1 Feb 04 at 12:10 am.

Joseph Raymond Waterman, age 20, 116 Pineview Circle, Marietta, for underage consumption of alcohol, a misdemeanor. Waterman was arrested on Pineview Circle by Deputy Sheriff Mankins of the Washington County Sheriff’s Office and processed into the Washington County Jail on 1 Feb 04 at 12:10 am.

Jason Christopher Scarberry, age 31, 1007 Virginia Avenue, Parkersburg, WV, for theft and receiving stolen property, both felonies. Scarberry was arrested on US 50 by the Ohio State Highway Patrol and processed into the Washington County Jail on 1 Feb 04 at 2:30 am.

Sally Jane Heiss, age 32, 31 Culver Street, Waterford, for driving under FRA suspension, a misdemeanor. Heiss was arrested at Hasty Shopper by Deputy Sheriff Norman of the Washington County Sheriff’s Office and processed into the Washington County Jail on 1 Feb 04 at 12:32 pm.

Sam Zedic McClead, age 23, 803 Warren Avenue, Belpre, for being a fugitive from justice, a felony. McClead was arrested on US 50 by Patrolman Morris of the Belpre City Police Department and processed into the Washington County Jail on 1 Feb 04 at 1:00 pm.

Mitchell Dean Needs, age 24, 554 Sand Ridge Road, Waterford, for a violation of his probation, a misdemeanor. Jones was arrested at the Waterford Marathon by Deputy Sheriff Spencer of the Washington County Sheriff’s Office and processed into the Washington County Jail on 1 Feb 04 at 7:00 pm.
