On 30 Jan 04 Deputy Sheriff Malone was dispatched to the home of Chris Stone, age 39, 850 Ferncliff Road, Marietta, after Mr. Stone reported the driver of a black Jeep threatened to run him over. Mr. Stone stated the vehicle entered his driveway at 1 am and when he asked the driver to leave, the driver became angry and threatened to shoot Mr. Stone. Then as Mr. Stone noted the license plate of the vehicle the driver, Timothy L. Richards, age 39, 114 Thompson Avenue, Follansbee, WV, nudged the vehicle forward barely striking Mr. Stone’s knee. Suffering no injuries, Mr. Stone left the driveway to call the Sheriff’s Office. After an investigation, Deputy Malone arrested Mr. Richards for aggravated menacing and transported him to the Washington County Jail.

On 30 Jan 04 Deputy Sheriff Eddy investigated a single vehicle accident at 974 Highland Ridge Road. Eryk Aboukua, age 24, 1511 Belmont Lane North, Lauderdale, FL, was entering the driveway at said location when his tractor-trailer missed the driveway and ran into a ditch causing damage to the driveway braces and French drain. The tractor-trailer remained undamaged and Mr. Aboukua suffered no injuries.

On 30 Jan 04 Deputy Sheriff Brockmeier investigated a single vehicle accident on Township Road 306, .2 miles north of Township Road 305. Kevin E. Lefferre, age 44, 41900 Township Road 289, Lewisville, OH, was attempting to climb a hill northbound on Township Road 306 when the tires on his Ford F-250 began to spin. Mr. Lefferre applied the brakes and began to slide backwards.
The vehicle continued to slide down the hill, left the southbound side of the roadway and came to rest against several trees. Mr. Lefferre suffered no injuries while his truck sustained disabling damage.

On 30 Jan 04 Deputy Sheriff Rhodes issued a citation to Joe Caldwell, age 22, Route 1 Box 109J, Vincent, for reckless operation on private property. Deputy Rhodes observed Mr. Caldwell doing donuts in the parking lot of Warren High School at 10:45 am.

On 30 Jan 04 Deputy Sheriff Underwood issued a citation to Aaron A. Bailey, age 21, 1782 Highland Park Road, Wooster, OH, for failure to obey a traffic control device. Deputy Underwood stopped Mr. Bailey after he failed to stop at a stop sign at the intersection of Putnam and Harmar Streets.

On 30 Jan 04 Deputy Sheriff McLeish stopped Howard D. Starlin, age 30, Route 1 Box 12F, Lowell, on State Route 339 for pulling a trailer without taillights. A check of the driver concluded he was driving under a suspended license. Deputy McLeish arrested Mr. Starlin and transported him to the Washington County Jail.

The following individuals were processed into the Washington County Jail:

John Aman Carpenter, age 23, 2545 Whitzel Road, Malta, for OVI .08 breath and driving left of center, both misdemeanors. Carpenter was arrested on Muskingum Drive by the Ohio State Highway Patrol and processed into the Washington County Jail on 30 Jan 04 at 2:50 am.

Timothy Lee Richards, age 39, 114 Thompson Avenue, Follansbee, WV, for aggravated menacing, a misdemeanor. Richards was arrested in Devola by Deputy Sheriff Malone of the Washington County Sheriff’s Office and processed into the Washington County Jail on 30 Jan 04 at 4:10 am.

effery Lee Ingram, age 24, 718 Ohio Avenue Apt. A, Belpre, for burglary and theft, both felonies. Ingram was arrested at his residence by Deputy Sheriff Sears of the Washington County Sheriff’s Office and processed into the Washington County Jail on 30 Jan 04 at 2:10 pm.

Matthew Lester Jones, age 19, 509 Front Street, Marietta, for a violation of his probation, a misdemeanor. Jones was arrested at his residence by Deputy Sheriff Sears of the Washington County Sheriff’s Office and processed into the Washington County Jail on 30 Jan 04 at 2:40 pm.

Howard James Starlin Jr., age 30, 1455 East Branch Road, Lowell, for driving under FRA suspension and driving under non-FRA suspension, both misdemeanors. Starlin was arrested on State Route 339 by Deputy Sheriff McLeish of the Washington County Sheriff’s Office and processed into the Washington County Jail on 30 Jan 04 at 7:25 pm.
