On 29 Jan 04 Lt. Canavan investigated a single vehicle accident on County Road 3 .2 miles west of Township Road 268. Dale J. Willson, age 54, was eastbound on County Road 3 when he encountered a patch of ice causing his Ford Crown Victoria to slide around a curve and strike an embankment. Mr. Willson suffered no injuries and the vehicle sustained minor damage.

On 29 Jan 04 State Extraditions, Inc. acting as fiduciary for Taylor County in Perry, Florida picked up Carla M O’Neill, age 33, 104 Wooster Street, Marietta, on a warrant for violating the terms of her probation by Operating a Motor Vehicle Under the Influence in Washington County Ohio on 3 Nov 03. Ms. O’Neill was on probation for an incident on 31 Jan 00 after which she was charged with shooting into an occupied dwelling and aggravated assault with a weapon, not a gun.

On 29 Jan 04 Gale Motz, age 62, 6344 Westmore, Lewisville, OH, reported between 8 and 28 Jan 04 an unknown suspect(s) removed the lock from a steel outbuilding on his property on County Road 66 and stole three windows, a drill, several fishing poles, a dolly and miscellaneous tools. This case remains under investigation (296).

On 29 Jan 04 Deputy Sheriff Brown investigated a single vehicle incident on the property of Robert Masters, Route 5 Box 100, Marietta. After feeding his cows Mr. Masters exited his GMC Sierra pickup truck and inadvertently knocked it out of gear causing it to roll backwards down his driveway, around a curve and come to rest partially submerged in a frozen pond. No injuries were reported and the vehicle sustained minor damage.

On 29 Jan 04 Deputy Sheriff Mankins investigated a single vehicle accident on State Route 7 .3 miles north of milepost 46. A 17 year old New Matamoras resident was northbound on Route 7 with one passenger and while attempting to pass another vehicle, lost control of her Ford Expedition, ran off the right side of the road, struck an embankment and rolled onto its left side. Both passengers were uninjured and the vehicle sustained nonfunctional damage.

the Sheriff’s Office received the following warrants:

Jacob A. Allen, age 18, 41 Sandstone Terrace, Athens, OH, for Theft. Allen was charged by Deputy Sheriff Brown of the Washington County Sheriff's Office.

Matthew A. Hickin, age 32, 1878 Hebbardsville Road, Albany, OH, for Possession of Criminal Tools and Trafficking in Drugs, both misdemeanor charges. Hickin was charged by the Washington County Prosecutor's Office.

Michael H. Moorman II, age 21, 3555 East 154th Street, Cleveland, OH, for Disorderly Conduct (Intoxication). Moorman was charged by the Washington County Sheriff's Office.

Keith Myers, age 56, Box 23, Longbottom, OH, for a felony charge of Theft. Myers was charged by Deputy Sheriff Eddy of the Washington County Sheriff's Office.

Jeffrey L. Ingram, age 24, 718 Ohio Avenue, Apartment B, Belpre, OH, indicted for 2 counts of felony Burglary, and 2 counts of felony Theft. Ingram was charged by the Belpre City Police Department.

Fannie Sarah Kovacs, age 23, last known address of Cedarbark Village Apartments #16B, Reno, OH, for felony Breach of Recognizance.

Jeffrey William Welsch, age 18, Scioto Village, Delaware, OH, for felony Theft and Safecracking. Welsch was charged by the Belpre City Police Department.

Marlene F. Allison, age 56, 34629 Township Road 246, Lower Salem, for failure to appear at a court ordered hearing on unpaid fines in the amount of $51.00. Allison was originally charged in violation of Section 4301.69 of the Ohio Revised Code by Deputy Mankins of the Washington County Sheriff’s Office.

Jennifer L. Brown, age 32, 64883 Wolfe Avenue, McArthur, OH, for failure to appear at a court ordered hearing on unpaid fines in the amount of $138.00. Brown was originally charged with theft by Deputy Stackpole of the Washington County Sheriff’s Office.

Valerie L. Garrett, age 45, 127 East Sixth Street, Williamstown, WV, for failing to appear for a scheduled appointment with her probation officer on 9 Jan 04. Garrett was originally charged with OVI by Patrolman Hearn of the Marietta City Police Department.

Justin M. Gossett, age 22, 407 East Spring Street, Marietta, for criminal damaging. Gossett was originally charged by Patrolman Huffman of the Marietta City Police Department.

Sharon J. Schoolcraft, age 29, 1096 Walsh Road, Vincent, for failing to appear to serve four days in jail on 22 Jan 04 as ordered by the Marietta Municipal Court. Schoolcraft was originally charged with contempt for failure to comply with a court order.

The following individuals were processed into the Washington County Jail:

Leah Pearl Shumar, age 40, 460 Barrett Road, Vincent, for passing bad checks, a misdemeanor. Shumar was arrested at her residence by Deputy Sheriff Sears of the Washington County Sheriff’s Office and processed into the Washington County Jail on 29 Jan 04 at 9:20 am.

Brian Albert O’Connor, age 39, 209 Walnut Street, Belpre, for nonsupport of dependants, a misdemeanor. O’Connor was arrested in Belpre by Deputy Sheriff Sears of the Washington County Sheriff’s Office and processed into the Washington County Jail on 29 Jan 04 at 10:55 am.

David William Ball, age 35, 112 Hayden Avenue, Columbus, for a violation of his probation and failure to appear at a hearing on unpaid fines, both misdemeanors. Ball was picked up in Columbus by Deputy Sheriff Underwood of the Washington County Sheriff’s Office and processed into the Washington County Jail on 29 Jan 04 at 3:22 pm.
