On 28 Jan 04 an employee of Decker Well Services reported when in the process of entering a gate at Hilltop Auto Wrecking, 975 Blue Knob Road, Warren Township, he noticed the lock had been forced off. Lt. Huffer was dispatched to the scene and upon his arrival observed fresh tire tracks and heard noises coming from behind the main office building. Following the tracks, Lt. Huffer found two males removing items from the bed of a truck and throwing them on the ground. In questioning the suspects, the two men admitted they forcibly entered the facility and removed the items from the truck without permission and had in their possession miscellaneous tools to accomplish their misdeed. The suspects, Joseph Lee Carpenter, age 18, 4080 Fifteen Mile Creek Road, and Keith Allen Huff, age 20, 3125 Cambridge Road, State Route 821, both of Marietta, were arrested for criminal damaging, criminal trespassing, theft and possession of criminal tools and transported to the Washington County Jail.

On 28 Jan 04 Matt S. Brown, age 21, 27400 State Route 7 Southgate Trailer Park Lot 3, New Matamoras, reported while his girlfriend borrowed his car, his girlfriend’s ex-boyfriend broke the passenger side mirror, windshield and damaged the dashboard. This case remains under investigation (1071).

On 28 Jan 04 Tony T. Hill, age 38, 1192 Patton Mills Road, reported that within the past two weeks an unknown suspect(s) entered a garage on his property and stole a John Deere space heater, a Hilti drill, a Hilti jackhammer, a Craftsman impact wrench and a Craftsman air compressor. This case remains under investigation (592).

On 28 Jan 04 Tammy Backus, age 31, 344 Earl Place Road, Cutler, reported she was a victim of domestic violence. An investigation determined the allegation was unfounded (592).

On 28 Jan 04 Lt. Canavan investigated a single vehicle crash on State Route 555 .6 miles south of Township Road 248. Pamela S. Isaacs, age 46, 8985 State Route 555, Cutler, was northbound on State Route 555 when she encountered cinders causing her to lose control of her 1999 Dodge 1500 and strike a guardrail. Ms. Isaacs reported no injuries and her vehicle sustained disabling damage.

the Sheriff’s Office received the following warrants:

Timothy J. Bookman, age 23, Lot 15M Harris Trailer Park, Newport, for two counts of violating the terms of his probation. Bookman was originally charged with two counts of endangering children by the Washington County Sheriff’s Office.

Christopher A. Bennett, age 25, 2468 State Route 3, Friendly, WV, for a violation of his probation. Bennett was originally charged with OMVI by the Washington County Sheriff’s Office.

Evelyn H. Sacks, age 34, 845 County House Lane, Marietta, for theft. Sacks was charged by the Washington County Sheriff’s Office succeeding an incident in which she borrowed a friend’s rings and failed to return them.

Leah P. Shumar, age 40, 460 Barrett South Road, Vincent, for passing a bad check in the amount of $21.42 to Gates Grocery. Shumar was charged by the Washington County Sheriff’s Office (8411).

The following individuals were processed into the Washington County Jail:

Tristan Lee Cumberledge, age 20, 740 Short Brook Road, Vincent, for breaking and entering and unauthorized use of property, namely a computer, both felonies. Cumberledge was picked up in Wood County by Deputy Sheriff Underwood of the Washington County Sheriff’s Office and processed into the Washington County Jail on 28 Jan 04 at 11:20 am.

Michael Edward Heitkamp, age 40, 505 Walnut Street, Belpre, for unauthorized use of a motor vehicle, a felony. Heitkamp was arrested at in Belpre by Patrolman Sams of the Belpre City Police Department and processed into the Washington County Jail on 28 Jan 04 at 2:30 pm.

Shawn Christoph Bauerbach, age 18,1632 Clark Road, Cutler, for a violation of his probation, a misdemeanor. Bauerbach was arrested at the Juvenile Center by Probation Officer Ketelsen of the Marietta Probation Office and processed into the Washington County Jail on 28 Jan 04 at 5:55 pm.

Joseph Lee Carpenter, age 18, 4080 Fifteen Mile Creek Road, Marietta, for criminal damaging, criminal trespassing, theft and possession of criminal tools, all misdemeanors. Carpenter was arrested at Hilltop Auto Wrecking by Deputy Sheriff Huffer of the Washington County Sheriff’s Office and processed into the Washington County Jail on 28 Jan 04 at 10:55 pm.

Keith Allen Huff, age 20, 3125 Cambridge Road, State Route 821, Marietta, for criminal damaging, criminal trespassing, theft and possession of criminal tools, all misdemeanors. Carpenter was arrested at Hilltop Auto Wrecking by Deputy Sheriff Huffer of the Washington County Sheriff’s Office and processed into the Washington County Jail on 28 Jan 04 at 11:10 pm.

Shawn David Dalrymple, age 19, 202 Fay Avenue, Marietta, for a violation of his probation, underage consumption and resisting arrest, all misdemeanors. Dalrymple was arrested at the Four Seasons by Patrolman Huffman of the Marietta City Police Department and processed into the Washington County Jail on 29 Jan 04 at 12:55 am.

Paul Andrew Sebring, age 32, PO Box 342, West Chester, OH, for rape, a felony. Sebring was arrested at Applebee’s by Patrolman Huffman of the Marietta City Police Department and processed into the Washington County Jail on 28 Jan 04 at 4:20 am.
