On 27 Jan 04 Sgt. Hiatt investigated a two vehicle accident at the Marietta City Schools bus garage. Jonathan C. Schwendeman, age 21, 85 Lang Farm Road, Marietta, was pulling forward in a school bus when he struck a parked Buick Regal occupied by its owner Anita C. Burnworth, age 50, 560 Breckenridge Road, Vincent. Both vehicles sustained minor damage and no injuries were reported.

On 27 Jan 04 Lisa A. Miller, age 43, 1101 Cisler Drive, Marietta, reported after asking her husband to get the beer out of their apartment, her husband Michael, age 48, became angry and pushed his wife into a door in their living room. After an intoxicated Mr. Miller admitted pushing his wife he was arrested for domestic violence and transported to the Washington County Jail.

On 27 Jan 04 Deputy Sheriff Brockmeier investigated a single vehicle crash on Township Road 32 2.1 miles south of County Road 60. Bernard R. Delong, age 35, Route 1 Box 169A Township Road 444, Lowell, was northbound on Township Road 32 when he encountered a patch of black ice and lost control of his 2001 Chevy Impala. Mr. Delong sustained no injuries when his vehicle sideswiped a utility pole causing moderate damage to the passenger side.

On 27 Jan 04 Deputy Sheriff Brockmeier investigated a single vehicle crash on Township Road 32 2.1 miles south of County Road 60. Karen A. Schram, age 38, Route 1 Box 169, Lowell, was northbound on Township Road 32 when she encountered a patch of black ice and lost control of her 2002 Toyota Camry. Ms. Schram sustained no injuries when her vehicle began to fishtail and collide with an embankment causing moderate damage to the driver side.

On 27 Jan 04 Thomas E. Harris, age 45, 1330 Rosenburg Road, Newport, reported after allowing an acquaintance to stay at his home for four days, the individual allegedly took a crossbow belonging to Mr. Harris without permission. This case remains under investigation (1291).

On 27 Jan 04 an employee of Byer’s BP, 38175 State Route 7, Marietta, reported an individual left without paying for $22.01 in gas but left his driver’s license and vowed to return in twenty minutes to pay for the gas. As of 27 Jan the suspect did not return, therefore Deputy Sheriff Brown filed an affidavit requesting a warrant for Jacob A. Allen, age 18, 41 Sandstone Terrace, Athens, for theft, a violation of Section 2913.02 (A-1) of the Ohio Revised Code.

the Sheriff’s Office received the following warrants:

Frank Z. Reyes, age 34, 1318 South Apple Street, Immokalee, FL, for operating without a license and speeding. Reyes was originally charged by the Ohio State Highway Patrol on 24 Dec 03.

The following individuals were processed into the Washington County Jail:

Judith Faye Sergent, age 49, 403 Lord Street, Marietta, for failure to appear, a misdemeanor. Sergent was arrested at her residence by Deputy Sheriff Sears of the Washington County Sheriff’s Office and processed into the Washington County Jail on 27 Jan 04 at 9:25 am.

Delmar E. Wittekind, age 33, 1150 Hanna Road, Marietta, for felonious assault. Wittekind was arrested at his residence by Deputy Sheriff Sears of the Washington County Sheriff’s Office and processed into the Washington County Jail on 27 Jan 04 at 11:00 pm.

Michael Dean Miller, age 48, 1101 Cisler Lane, Marietta, for domestic violence, a misdemeanor. Miller was arrested at his residence by Deputy Sheriff Huck of the Washington County Sheriff’s Office and processed into the Washington County Jail on 27 Jan 04 at 7:40 pm.
