On 21 Jan 04 the Sheriff’s Office began
collaborating with the Wood County Sheriff’s Office in
an investigation into an illegal website. This case remains
under investigation.
On 21 Jan 04 Detectives and Uniformed Officers
from the Sheriff’s Office obtained and executed a search
warrant at the residence of Robert F. Shockey, Jr. age 42,
4998 Braun Road , Belpre , OH. A large quantity of marijuana
and drug paraphernalia was seized from the location.
On 21 Jan 04 Janice Robinson, age 44, 1855 Mt.
Tom Road, Marietta, reported an acquaintance, whom was working
on her house, took a washer and dryer without permission. This
case was submitted to the Prosecutor’s Office for possible
grand jury consideration (945).
On 21 Jan 04 Lt. Huffer and Deputy Sheriff
Jenkins were dispatched to a home in Little Hocking regarding
a domestic
dispute.
Through witness statements the Deputies deduced that a mother
became angry that her 16 and 13 year old daughters were arguing
and repeatedly slapped and pulled the hair of the elder. The
mother was arrested for domestic violence and transported to
the Washington County Jail.
On 21 Jan 04 Deputy Sheriff Sears arrested Howard
E. Baker, age 32, Camelot West #6, Marietta, a fugitive from
justice from the State of West Virginia. Baker was charged with
a felony for unlawfully obtaining from another by false pretense,
goods valued over $1,000. Mr. Baker entered in a contract to
perform construction on a home in Parkersburg and failed to
complete the work.
On 21 Jan 04 Deputy Sheriff Evans performed a
check on the welfare of a 22 year old Marietta man. The individual
was transported to Marietta Memorial Hospital for treatment
and evaluation.
On 21 Jan 04 Thomas R. Stokes, age 31, 160
Welch Road, Cutler, reported a relative may have stolen 15–20
prescription hydrocodone pills from his wife while visiting
the residence on 11 Jan 04. This incident remains under investigation
(200).
On 21 Jan 04 a Marietta woman reported receiving
a harassing phone call from a relative. The woman asked the
relative not to call back and has not received any calls since
(1291).
On 21 Jan 04 Deputy Sheriffs responded to
an alarm at White Oak Pharmacy, PO Box 18 State Route 339.
Upon their arrival Deputies found the glass of the front door
was broken out and several items were missing.
After speaking with an employee, the following items were determined
to be missing: a number of bottles of ibuprofen containing
400,
600 and 800mg tablets, 500mg Cipro tablets, 25mg indomethasin
tablets, 10 and 20 mg Bextra tablets and a number of Buspar
tablets. The Sheriff’s Office requests the assistance
of any citizen with information relating to this incident.

Office received the following warrants:
Gene D. Craig, age 31, and Carla M. Owens, age
33, both of 389 Cedar Ridge Road, Lowell, for an assault that
occurred on 4 Jan 04.
Samuel Damron, age 27, for Probation Violation out of Common
Pleas Court. Damron was previously convicted of Possession of
Drugs.
The following individuals
were processed into the Washington County Jail:
Terrel Coy Davis, age 19, Route 3 Box 41, Albany,
OH, for failure to appear at a hearing on unpaid fines, a misdemeanor.
Davis was picked up at the North Central Regional Jail by Patrolman
Morris of the Belpre City Police Department and processed into
the Washington County Jail on 21 Jan 04 at 2:20 am.
Glen Ray Hardie Sr., age 35, 761 Buckeye Avenue,
Marietta, for failure to appear, a misdemeanor. Hardie turned
himself in to the Washington County Sheriff’s Office and
was processed into the Washington County Jail on 21 Jan 04 at
8:55 am.
Amy Lynn Treadway, age 30, 310 Sixth Street Apt.
5, Marietta, for a violation of her probation, a misdemeanor.
Treadway was arrested at the Marietta Probation Office by Probation
Officer Bosworth of the Marietta Probation Office and processed
into the Washington County Jail on 21 Jan 04 at 9:20 am.
Howard Edward Baker, age 32, Camelot West #6,
Marietta, a fugitive from justice, a felony. Baker was arrested
at his residence by Deputy Sheriff Sears of the Washington County
Sheriff’s Office and processed into the Washington County
Jail on 21 Jan 04 at 3:55 pm.
Priscilla Ann Parker, age 44, 784 Carson Lane,
Little Hocking, for domestic violence, a misdemeanor. Parker
was arrested at her residence by Deputy Sheriff Jenkins of the
Washington County Sheriff’s Office and processed into
the Washington County Jail on 21 Jan 04 at 6:50 pm.
Sherry Marie Duff, age 33, 931 Fifth Street, Marietta,
for failure to appear at a hearing on unpaid fines, a misdemeanor.
Duff was arrested at her residence by Patrolman Mitchell of
the Marietta City Police Department and processed into the Washington
County Jail on 21 Jan 04 at 8:25 pm.
John Douglas King, age 42, 47 Craycroft, Deberry,
FL, for OVI and driving the wrong way on a divided road way
(a violation of ORC 4511.35), both misdemeanors. King was arrested
on State Route 7 by the Ohio State Highway Patrol and processed
into the Washington County Jail on 21 Jan 04 at 10:45 pm.
