On 19 Jan 04 an employee of Pioneer Chevrolet,
1315 Pike Street, Marietta, reported between 16 and 19 Jan an
unknown suspect(s) broke into a vehicle and stole an AM/FM CD
player and attempted to steal a radio from another vehicle.
This case remains under investigation (1291).
On 19 Jan 04 Deputy Sheriff Simmons investigated
a single vehicle accident on a private drive 1.3 miles south
of State Route 26 and Township Road 35. David T. Wiesel, age
42, 523 Fifth Street, Marietta, was backing down a drive in
his Ford Explorer after goose hunting and slowly slid off the
left side of the drive causing his vehicle to overturn and
come
to rest on its left side.
Damage was moderate and Mr. Wiesel sustained no injuries.
On 19 Jan 04 Sgt. Underwood and Deputy Sheriff
Gherke were dispatched to the home of Brian Worstell, age 39,
29725 State Route 7, Marietta, after Mr. Worstell reported
his
son Patrick, age 19, assaulted his stepmother. Following an
argument, Mrs. Worstell pushed Patrick toward a sliding glass
door in an attempt to facilitate his exit and in return Patrick
swung at his stepmother, giving her a bloody nose.
In an ensuing altercation Patrick threw his father to the floor
then abruptly left.
Patrick was arrested for domestic violence and transported
to the Washington County Jail where he is being held under
a cash
bond.
On 19 Jan 04 a 17 year old New Matamoras resident reported while
staying at a friend’s house for New Year’s eve,
an unknown suspect stole his wallet which contained personal
effects, $240 cash and $220 in Circuit City gift cards.
On 19 Jan 04 Malcolm W. Haught, age 45, 1035 Rocky Point Road,
Fleming, reported an unknown suspect(s) broke into a barn on
his property between 3 pm Friday and 1:30 pm Monday and stole
his red Honda Fourtrax ATV. This case remains under investigation
(592).
