On 18 Jan 04 Deputy Sheriff Stackpole
investigated a two vehicle crash on US 50 near the intersection
of
State Route 618.
Glen A. Schaffert, age 56, 4005
Canyon Drive NW, Canton, OH, was eastbound in his BMW
325ci when Bradley Blair, age 18, 224 Calaway Ridge,
Coolville,
approached in the passing lane from behind. While attempting
to overtake Mr. Schaffert, Mr. Blair lost control of
his
Chevy Cavalier struck the bumper of the BMW causing Mr.
Blair to spin around. Mr. Schaffert in turn came to rest
perpendicular to the driver side of Mr. Blair’s
vehicle.
Both vehicles sustained moderate damage and no injuries
were reported. Mr. Blair was issued a citation for failure
to control.
On 18 Jan 04 Deputy Sheriffs Evans and Kapple were dispatched
to the home of Brenda S. Watson, age 43, 1751 Darnold
Road, Vincent, after Ms. Watson reported being assaulted
by her live-in partner Janet E. Skidmore, age 43. Ms.
Watson stated that Ms. Skidmore was irate over the fact
that Ms. Watson slammed the door several times and ran
the washing machine late at night, keeping her kids up.
The argument escalated into a fight and Ms. Watson sustained
a bloody nose.
Ms. Skidmore was arrested for domestic violence, transported
to the Washington County Jail and released on a personal
recognizance bond.
On 18 Jan 04 a Marietta resident reported
her 14 year old daughter kicked her several times during
an argument over the juvenile’s refusal to complete
household chores.
An affidavit will be filed requesting a summons for the
teenager for being delinquent (232) (187).
On 18 Jan 04 a Marietta resident reported an acquaintance
made a threat toward her on 10 Jan 04, causing her to
be in fear for her safety. This case remains under investigation
(200).
Subsequent to an anonymous caller complaining of a loud
party at Route 1 Box 157B in Belpre on 16 Jan 04, Deputy
Sheriff Rhodes filed affidavits on 18 Jan 04 requesting
summonses for:
Tim Neill, age 19, Route 1 Box 157B, Belpre, for underage
consumption of
alcohol.
A 16-year-old male and two 17-year-old females for
underage consumption of alcohol
The following
individuals were processed into the Washington County
Jail:
Janet Elaine Skidmore, age 43,
1751 Darnold Road, Vincent, for domestic violence,
a misdemeanor.
Skidmore was arrested at her residence by Deputy
Sheriff Evans of the Washington County Sheriff’s Office
and processed into the Washington County Jail on 18 Jan
04 at 3:30 am.
Charles Edward Haught III, age 20, 629 Phillips Street,
Marietta, for domestic violence, assault and a probation
violation, all misdemeanors. Morris was arrested in Marietta
by Patrolman McCracken of the Marietta City Police Department
and processed into the Washington County Jail on 18 Jan
04 at 4:17 am.
Rachel Dawn Thomas, age 31, 110 Franklin Street, for operating
without a license, failure to control and having fictitious
plates, all misdemeanors. Thomas was arrested in Marietta
by the Ohio State Highway Patrol and processed into the
Washington County Jail on 18 Jan 04 at 7:10 pm.
Douglas Allen Harlow, age 36, 5 Main Street,
Englewood, OH, for violation of a protection
order, a misdemeanor.
Harlow
arrested at the Best Western in Marietta by Patrolman
Arbaugh of the Marietta City Police Department
and processed
into the Washington County Jail on 18 Jan 04
at 7:30 pm.
