At 7 am on 17 Jan 04 an employee of the Washington
County Juvenile Center, 1699 Colgate Drive, Marietta, reported
two juvenile males escaped during a morning work detail.
An exhaustive search of the facility’s buildings failed
to locate the suspects; however, the juveniles were apprehended
at 10:15 at a home in downtown Marietta (1203).
On 17 Jan 04 while patrolling on State Route 60 at Coal Run,
Deputy Sheriff Eddy came upon a disabled vehicle being assisted
by several good samaritans. One of the Samaritans informed
Deputy
Eddy he believed the two females in the vehicle were underage
and under the influence of alcohol.
The elder occupant of the vehicle, Amber Snedegar, age 20,
1744 Front Street, Logan, OH, failed field sobriety tests,
was arrested
for underage consumption and transported to the Washington
County Jail. Deputy Eddy also filed an affidavit requesting
a summons
for the 16 year old juvenile for being delinquent.
On 17 Jan 04 Deputy Sheriff Evans assisted the Barlow Township
Fire Department on a medical call.
The Barlow squad transported the victim to Marietta Memorial
Hospital for treatment.
On 17 Jan 04 while tending to a victim, a squad member discovered
drug paraphernalia. The contraband was turned over to the Sheriff’s
Office for further investigation (501).
On 17 Jan 04 a New Matamoras resident reported an acquaintance
of her teenage daughter forcibly entered her home and assaulted
her daughter. This case remains under investigation (501).
On 17 Jan 04 Sgt. Jobes and Deputy Sheriff Rhodes were dispatched
to the home of Eric W. Morris, age 22, 80 Smith Drive, Marietta,
after Mr. Morris reported he was assaulted by his father Ronald,
age 47. Mr. Morris was in an argument with his mother and while
attempting to comb his hair, his father forced open the bathroom
door and punched him. Ronald Morris was arrested for domestic
violence, transported to the Washington County Jail and released
on a personal recognizance bond.
On 17 Jan 04 Deputy Sheriff Eddy investigated a single crash
on County Road 33, a half mile west of State Route 260.
Stephanie A. Devier, age 32, PO Box 158 State Route 7, New
Matamoras, was eastbound on County Road 33 with one passenger
when she
lost control of her GMC Jimmy after negotiating a turn. The
vehicle struck a guardrail then came to rest in a ditch on
the
westbound side of the road.
The vehicle sustained nonfunctional damage and no injuries
were reported.
On 17 Jan 04 Deputy Sheriff Stackpole investigated a single
vehicle crash on Federal Ridge Road near milepost 5.
A sixteen year old female was southbound on Federal Ridge Road
with one passenger when she lost control of her Oldsmobile
after
topping a hill. The vehicle slid and spun around striking a
ditch then a fencepost. The vehicle sustained heavy damage
to
the undercarriage and no injuries were reported.
The following individuals
were processed into the Washington County Jail:
Amber Lorain Snedgar, age 20, 33220 Blackburn
Road, Logan, OH, for underage consumption, a misdemeanor.
Snedgar was arrested on State Route 60 by Deputy Sheriff Eddy
of the Washington County Sheriff’s Office and processed
into the Washington County Jail on 17 Jan 04 at 4:42 am.
Ronald Wayne Morris, age 47, 80 Smith Drive, Marietta, for
domestic violence, a misdemeanor.
Morris was arrested at his residence by Deputy Sheriff Brown
of the Washington County Sheriff’s Office and processed
into the Washington County Jail on 17 Jan 04 at 10:30 pm.
