On 16 Jan 04 an anonymous resident reported the
presence of several junk vehicles on a property on Fifteen Mile
Creek, Newport. This case remains under investigation (695).
On 16 Jan 04 Deputy Sheriff Mankins issued a citation
to David I. Wharton, age 37, Route 1 Box 194A, Newport for traveling
74 mph in a 55 mph zone. Deputy Mankins stopped Mr. Wharton
on State Route 7 near milepost 42 in Grandview Township.
On 16 Jan 04 Deputy Sheriff Mankins issued a citation to Lindsey
N. Lawrence, age 19, 2010 State Route 7, New Matamoras, for
traveling 52 mph in a 20 mph school zone.
Deputy Mankins stopped Ms. Lawrence on State Route 7 near Frontier
High School in Grandview Township.
On 16 Jan 04 Deputy Sheriff Mankins issued a citation to Roger
D. Doehring, age 40, Route 2 Box 203, St Marys, WV, for traveling
54 mph in a 40 mph zone. Deputy Mankins stopped Mr. Doehring
on State Route 7 near the Newport Fire Department in Newport
Township.
On 16 Jan 04 an anonymous caller complained of a loud party
at Route 1 Box 157B in Belpre.
Upon arrival, Deputies found several underage juveniles consuming
alcohol. This case remains under investigation pending charges
in juvenile court (200) (592) (698).
On 16 Jan 04 while on patrol for suspicious activity in the
vicinity of Township Road 1261 and County Road 339 Deputy Sheriffs
Evans and Kapple noticed such behavior exhibited by the driver
of a 1990 Ford Taurus. After they observed the vehicle stop
at a stop sign for several minutes, Deputy Sheriffs Evans and
Kapple approached the car immediately and noticed an odor of
alcoholic beverages. The two male occupants informed the Deputies
they left a party and consumed alcohol.
Both 17 year old males were apprehended for underage consumption
and later released to the custody of their parents.
On 16 Jan 04 behind the Devola pool, Deputy Sheriff Brown discovered
two road signs missing from Browns Road and Arborgate Drive.
The signs were returned to the custody of their respective Township
Trustee.
On 16 Jan 04 Deputy Sheriffs Norman and Gherke were dispatched
to a home in Little Hocking. Upon their arrival the foster mother
of a 14 year old informed Deputies that her foster son began
cussing and abruptly fled the home and returned before the Deputies
arrived. As a result, Deputy Gherke filed an affidavit requesting
a summons for the juvenile for being unruly.
The following individuals
were processed into the Washington County Jail:
Richard Carl Food, age 38, Marietta, for a felony
probation violation.
Flood was arrested at the Adult
Probation Office by Probation Officer Gilchrist of the Adult
Probation Office and processed into the Washington County Jail
on 16 Jan 04 at 12:00 pm.
Wesley Duane Lincoln, age 19, 955 Mitchell Lane,
Marietta, for juvenile offenses and violation of a protection
order, both misdemeanors. Lincoln was arrested on Lord Street
by Patrolman Ellenwood of the Marietta City Police Department
and processed into the Washington County Jail on 16 Jan 04 at
12:15 pm.
Brent Michael Radabaugh, age 26, 114 Oakview Drive #7, Marietta,
for a felony probation violation. Radabaugh was arrested at
the Adult
Probation Office by Probation Officer Gilchrist of the Adult
Probation Office and processed into the Washington County Jail
on 16 Jan 04 at 3:30 pm.
Brett Alan Ludwig, age 31, 333 Fifth Street, Marietta, for failure
to appear at a hearing on unpaid fines, a misdemeanor. Ludwig
was arrested on County Road 3 by Deputy Sheriff Underwood of
the Washington County Sheriff’s Office and processed into
the Washington County Jail on 16 Jan 04 at 10:25 pm.
