On 13 Jan 04 Deputy Sheriff Spencer began an investigation
into a hit-skip accident in the parking lot of Warren High School
on 7 Jan 04. Gregory Baker, 405 Baker Road, Little Hocking,
reported after his daughter parked her maroon Ford Taurus at
8 am to attend class, she was informed at 3:30 pm an unknown
car struck hers. The collision resulted in dents and scratches
with light colored paint transfer to the rear door and quarter
panel on the passenger side.
This incident remains under investigation.
On 13 Jan 04 Vickie Cox, age 20, 1221 Whipple
Road, Whipple, reported receiving a fraudulent check for $5,000
from an individual she entered into a business contract with.
The suspect issued the check to Ms. Cox for the sale of two
horses Ms. Cox posted for sale on the Internet.
When the check failed to clear, Ms. Cox ended the transaction
prior to shipment of the animals.
This case remains under investigation (1291).
On 13 Jan 04 a Washington County resident reported receiving
harassing phone calls from an acquaintance between 21 Sep 03
and 13 Jan 04. This case remains under investigation (586).
On 13 Jan 04 Deborah S. Decker, age 52, Walnut Drive, New Matamoras,
reported a group of juveniles tore the front off a Coke machine
at 305 Main Street, New Matamoras, and threw it in the street.
This case remains under investigation (1184).
On 13 Jan 04 Russell L. O’Dell, age 62, 101 Evans Street
Apt. 14B, New Matamoras, reported an unknown suspect entered
his apartment between 9 am and 1:30 pm on 8 Jan 04 and stole
100 insulin syringes and a car title. This case remains under
investigation (1071).

James D. Ramsey, age 40, 112 Hillsboro Trailer
Court Lot 12, Marietta, for grand theft auto.
Douglas D. Starcher Jr., age 23, 15981 State Route 279, Oak
Hill, OH, for operating without a license on 23 Aug 03.
Kevin R. Davis, age 33, Route 2 Box 303D PO Box 346, Belpre,
for operating without a license on 6 Dec 03.
Johnny L. Emerick, age 40, 111 Euclid Place #3, Marietta, for:
Passing a bad check in the amount of $163.96 to Carver’s
Plumbing on 10 Mar 03 and Theft, for exerting control over property
valued under $500, owned by Jennifer Santee without the owner’s
consent.
Ronald G. West Jr., age 28, 820 Saint Marys Avenue, Marietta,
for breach of recognizance, for failure to appear in court on
15 Dec 03.
The following individuals
were processed into the Washington County Jail:
Timothy Gale Kidder, age 23, 309 Maple Street
Apt. D, Marietta, for two counts of failure to appear, both
misdemeanors. Kidder was arrested at her residence by Patrolman
Huffman of the Marietta City Police Department and processed
into the Washington County Jail on 13 Jan 04 at 6:35 am.
David Michael Hall, age 24, 908 Neal Street Apt. A, Parkersburg,
WV, for burglary and theft, both felonies. Hill was picked up
at the North Central Regional Jail by Deputy Sheriff Coppernoll
of the Washington County Sheriff’s Office and processed
into the Washington County Jail on 13 Jan 04 at 10:30 am.
Jack Ray Barton, age 52, 1007 Gilman Avenue, Marietta, for a
violation of his probation, a misdemeanor. Barton was arrested
at his residence by Deputy Sheriff Sears of the Washington County
Sheriff’s Office and processed into the Washington County
Jail on 13 Jan 04 at 12:51 pm.
James Ray Ball Jr., age 32, PO Box 1251, Beckley, WV, for failure
to comply with the signal or order of an officer. Ball was arrested
in Nelsonville by Deputy Sheriff Casto of the Washington County
Sheriff’s Office and processed into the Washington County
Jail on 13 Jan 04 at 1:35 pm.
