On 11 Jan 04 Dwayne Daggett, age 38, 3736 State
Route 339, Belpre, reported when he returned home on 11 Jan
at 9:30 am after being away overnight, he found two thirty inch
by thirty inch windows on his home broken. This case remains
under investigation (1090).
On 11 Jan 04 Janet I. Grahame, age 61, 730 Sheets Run Road,
Newport, reported an unknown suspect(s) shattered a sliding
glass door, entered her Ohio River home and stole a 27 inch
Samsung TV and a Panasonic VCR between 8 Jan and 11 Jan 04.
This case remains under investigation (1090).
On 11 Jan 04 Juanita Farrell, age 48, 135 Warner
Street, Lower Salem, reported at 1:30 am, as she was walking
home on State Route 821 in Whipple, an unknown suspect got out
of a vehicle and hit her with a pipe. This case remains under
investigation (296).
On 11 Jan 04 while on patrol northbound on State Route 7 near
County Road 51 Deputy Sheriffs Jenkins and Rhodes observed
a
southbound vehicle which appeared to be traveling over the
55 mph speed limit. Activation of their Doppler radar unit
confirmed
their suspicions that, in fact the vehicle was traveling 70
mph as well as swerving to the right of the white edge line.
The driver was stopped at 7-11 on Main Street in Belpre and
upon making contact with the driver, Russell E. Coy, age 34,
Route 1 Box 267A, Deputy Jenkins noticed a strong odor of alcohol.
Subsequent to failing field sobriety and breathalyzers tests,
Mr. Coy was arrested for OMVI and transported to the Washington
County Jail.
The following individuals
were processed into the Washington County Jail:
Jessie Mae Morrison, age 26, 111 Harmar Street,
Marietta, for failure to appear at a hearing on unpaid fines,
a misdemeanor. Morrison was arrested in Belpre by the Ohio State
Highway Patrol and processed into the County Jail on 11 Jan
04 at 2:35 am.
Russell Everett Coy, age 34, 2468 Barth Road, Belpre, for OVI
and driving outside marked lanes of travel, both misdemeanors.
Coy was arrested on State Route 7 by Deputy Sheriff Jenkins
of the Washington County Sheriff’s Office and processed
into the Washington County Jail on 11 Jan 04 at 4:50 am.
