On 9 Jan 04 Deputy Sheriff Brown responded to
a hang up 911 call at 85 Brooker Road, Marietta.
After speaking with the resident, Haines Kitts, age 42, Deputy
Brown determined the call was accidental.
On 9 Jan 04 Deputy Sheriff Mankins stopped a vehicle traveling
southbound on State Route 60 near Lowell Elementary School
after
he observed the driver swerve left of center.
The driver of the vehicle Jimmie R. Brookover, age 63, PO Box
295 Main Street, Lowell, swayed as he exited his vehicle. Thereafter,
Mr. Brookover failed a series of field sobriety tests, was
issued
a citation for driving left to center, arrested for OMVI and
transported to the Washington County Jail.
On 9 Jan 04 Robert E. Spence, age 75, 485 Joe Skinner Road,
Belpre, reported he was coaxed out of $1,000 by two acquaintances
who stated they were borrowing the money to buy out a partner
of theirs at a flea market. Mr. Spence made the loan in September
of 2003 and has yet to be paid.
This case remains under investigation (1090).
On 9 Jan 04 Cathy L. Clegg, age 42, 112 Belaire Drive, Marietta,
reported an individual obtained her Social Security Number
and
used it to turn on the gas to a residence in Massillon, OH.
An investigation concluded the charges were unfounded (1071).
On 9 Jan 04 Brandi K. Matheny, age 19, 180 Dawes Circle, Marietta,
reported during a friend’s overnight stay at her home,
her friend woke to find his wallet and its contents missing.
This case remains under investigation (598).
On 9 Jan 04 Glen Santee, age 63, 235 Johnson Road, Marietta,
reported after returning home from grocery shopping, he found
that an unknown suspect(s) forcibly entered his home and rummaged
through several rooms. Further inspection showed the only item
missing was a Playstation 2 game console.
This case remains under investigation (501).
On 9 Jan 04 Deputy Sheriffs Kapple and Evans were dispatched
to the home of Korby Kitts, age 39, 85 Brooker Road, Marietta,
concerning a domestic dispute. Mr. Kitts stated after drinking
and arguing for some time, his wife Brenda K. Haines-Kitts,
age 42, dumped a can of beer out on his head.
As a result of their investigation, Deputy Evans issued Mrs.
Kitts a minor misdemeanor citation for disorderly conduct and
ordered to appear in Marietta Municipal Court.
On 9 Jan 04 Ted Lane, age 55, 127 Wynncrest Lane, Marietta,
reported after leaving his Mercury Tracer at his business at
20620 State Route 676 on 8 Jan, he returned the next day to
discover all the tires were punctured .
This case remains under investigation (1090).
On 9 Jan 04 members of the Washington County Sheriff’s
Office Detectives Bureau executed a search warrant at the residence
of Angela D. Day, age 26, 565 B. F. Goodrich Road , Marietta
. Through the course of their search, detectives seized over
fifty grams of marijuana packaged for distribution along with
assorted drug paraphernalia. Day was taken into custody and
incarcerated in the Washington County Jail pending judicial
action.
The following individuals
were processed into the Washington County Jail:
Roberto Garcia-Cortez, age 18, 3675 Cleveland
Avenue, Columbus, OH, for Operating with an Expired OL.
Garcia-Cortez was arrested on US 50 by the Ohio State Highway
Patrol and processed into the County Jail on 9 Jan 04 at 3:20
am.
Donald Lewis Ludolph, age 28, 50 Charles Street,
Newport, for criminal trespassing and criminal damaging, both
misdemeanors. Ludolph turned himself in to Deputy Sheriff Sears
of the Washington County Sheriff’s Office and was processed
into the Washington County Jail on 9 Jan 04 at 8:08 am.
Angela Dawn Day, age 26, 565 BF Goodrich Road, Marietta, for
drug trafficking, a felony. Day was arrested at her residence
by Deputy Sheriff Alkire of the Washington County Sheriff’s
Office and processed into the Washington County Jail on 9 Jan
04 at 2:15 pm.
Kevin Wesley Houck, age 20, 1845 Silver Globe Road, Marietta,
for a felony probation violation.
Houck was arrested at the Adult Probation Office by Probation
Officer Hamilton of the Adult Probation Office and processed
into the Washington County Jail on 9 Jan 04 at 3:15 pm.
Jimmie Ray Brookover, age 63, PO Box 295, Lowell, for OVI and
driving left of center, both misdemeanors. Brookover was arrested
in Lowell by Deputy Sheriff Mankins of the Washington County
Sheriff’s Office and processed into the Washington County
Jail on 9 Jan 04 at 11:40 pm.
