On 5 Jan 04 an employee of the Humane Society of the Mid-Ohio Valley, 1210 County House Lane, Marietta, reported between 2 Jan and 5 Jan 04 an unknown suspect(s) entered the building and stole Sentry safe containing an unknown amount of money and a credit card. This case remains under investigation (684).

On 5 Jan 04 Frank Tucker, age 62, 112 Ohio Boulevard, Marietta, reported his grandson allegedly stole a check from him on 24 Dec 03 and later cashed it. This case remains under investigation (500) (597).

On 5 Jan 04 Deputy Sheriff Malone investigated a single vehicle crash in the parking lot of Degussa, 1135 State Route 7, Belpre. Danny L. Boatwright, age 50, 142 Fig Tree Road North, Augusta, GA, was backing a tractor trailer in the lot when the right front fender of the truck came in contact with a metal fence post causing minor damage to the truck. No injuries were reported.

The following individuals were processed into the Washington County Jail:

Franklin D. Tucker III, age 18, 804 Front Street, Marietta, for passing bad checks, a misdemeanor. Tucker was arrested on Front Street by Deputy Sheriff Norman of the Washington County Sheriff’s Office and processed into the Washington County Jail on 5 Jan 04 at 3:35 pm.

Adam Dale Mason, age 20, 10 Railroad Street, Marion, PA, for failure to appear and a probation violation, both misdemeanors. Mason was arrested at his residence by Patrolman Davis of the Belpre City Police Department and processed into the Washington County Jail on 5 Jan 04 at 5:10 pm.

Quinton Shane Reeve Sipes, age 27, 1281 Eastfork Road, Lower Salem, for a probation violation, a misdemeanor. Sipes turned himself in to Probation Officer Hamilton of the Marietta Probation Office and processed into the Washington County Jail on 5 Jan 04 at 10:10 pm.
