On 3 Jan 04 Sgt. Warden issued a citation to Jason R. Luke, age 21, 144 Dawes Circle, Marietta, for driving under suspension as well as having fictitious registration. Deputy Warden stopped Mr. Luke near the intersection of Wooster and Second Street.

On 3 Jan 04 Lt. Canavan issued a citation to Larry G. Barrick, age 52, 286 Arberland Road, Wheeling, WV, for driving 70 mph in a 55 mph zone. Lt. Canavan stopped Mr. Barrick near the intersection of State Route 7 and County Road 51 in Dunham Township.

On 3 Jan 04 Tamela S. Blake, age 39, 820 Millbranch Road, Belpre, reported her son’s father allegedly punched his son in the face. An investigation concluded the allegation was unfounded (1203).

On 3 Jan 04 Thomas Shank, age 43, 389 Cedarville Ridge Road, Lowell, reported an acquaintance allegedly slapped him while visiting his home. An investigation concluded the allegation was unfounded (200).

On 3 Jan 04 an employee of the Fox Den Bar, 40 McGrath Road, Macksburg, reported a patron overindulged in alcohol, was causing alarm to others and harm to herself by falling over bar stools. Upon their arrival Deputies Rhodes and Jenkins found Robyn Hasley, age 45, 223 Broughton Avenue, Marietta, with several scratches on her forehead and chin. After declining to perform field sobriety tests Ms. Hasley was arrested for disorderly conduct by intoxication and transported to the Washington County Jail.

On 3 Jan 04 the pastor of the Bethel Lighthouse Church, 5570 Warren Chapel Road, Marietta, reported on 23 Dec 03, he witnessed two individuals in a Ford Ranger doing donuts in the church parking lot. This case remains under investigation (1090).

On 3 Jan 04 Loraine Devlin, age 41, 751 Mount Tom Road, reported after waking a houseguest to request he leave the residence, the guest became hostile and pushed her in the chest. Hearing the commotion, Ms. Devlin’s son and a friend subdued the guest, John S. Bishop, age 30, 5020 State Route 60, Marietta, until Deputies Gherke and Norman arrived. Mr. Bishop was arrested for disorderly conduct and transported to the Washington County Jail.

On 3 Jan 04 William Gilliam, age 40, a current resident of the Washington County Jail, reported he was assaulted during an argument with another jail resident over a lunchtime seating arrangement. This case remains under investigation (586).

The following individuals were processed into the Washington County Jail:

Barbara Ann Crawford, age 24, 106 Colonial Square, Apartment D, Belpre, OH, for Domestic Violence, a misdemeanor. Crawford was arrested at her residence by Patrolman Fields of the Belpre City Police Department and processed into the County Jail on 03 Jan 04 at 4:26 am.

Mikal Leroy Sparks, age 25, 319 Seventh Street, Marietta, OH, for Safecracking and Breaking and Entering, both felony charges. Sparks was arrested on Wayne Street Marietta, OH, by Patrolman Huffman of the Marietta City Police Department and processed into the County Jail on 03 Jan 04 at 11:10 am.

Christopher Brian Arnett, age 21, 4791 Waterford Road, Marietta, OH, for Safecracking and Breaking and Entering, both felony charges. Arnett was arrested on Wayne Street, Marietta OH, by Patrolman Huffman of the Marietta City Police Department and processed into the County Jail on 03 Jan 03 at 11:15 am.

Travis Lee Swiger, age 19, Route 3 Box 262, Parkersburg, WV, for 2 counts of Violation of Protection Order, both misdemeanor charges. Swiger was arrested on Acme Street, Marietta OH by Patrolman Hively of the Marietta City Police Department and processed into the County Jail on 03 Jan 04 at 2:15 pm.

Lawrence William Duncan, age 51, Post Office Box 5094, Princeton, WV, for Operating with Expired OL or No OL and Obeying Traffic Control Device, both misdemeanor charges. Duncan was arrested on State Route 7 by Trooper Cunningham of the Ohio State Highway Patrol and processed into the County Jail on 03 Jan 04 at 3:10 pm.

John Shane Bishop, age 27, 5020 State Route 60, Marietta, OH, for Disorderly Conduct (Intoxication), a misdemeanor. Bishop was arrested on Mount Tom Road by Deputy Sheriff Norman of the Washington County Sheriff’s Office and processed into the County Jail on 03 Jan 03 at 4:15 pm.

Robyn Lynn Hasley, age 45, 233 Broughton Avenue, Marietta, OH, for Disorderly Conduct (Intoxication), a misdemeanor. Hasley was arrested at the Fox Den by Deputy Sheriff Rhodes of the Washington County Sheriff’s Office and was processed into the County Jail on 03 Jan 04 at 7:00 pm.
