On 30 Dec 03 Kevin R. Place, age 50, 10062 State Route 555, Cutler, reported between June and October a tree stand he owns was stolen from a leased property on State Route 555 near County Road 236. This case is closed due to the fact Mr. Place elected not to pursue charges (592).

On 30 Dec 03 David M. Harris, age 54, 494 Muskingum Drive, Marietta, reported between 4:30 pm on 29 Dec 03 and 10 am on 30 Dec 03 an unknown suspect(s) shot and killed a three month old black angus heifer on his farm located at 2550 Dixon Ridge Road, Lowell. This case remains under investigation (1184).

On 30 Dec 03 Thomas Harris, age 45, 1330 Rosenbush Road, Newport, reported between 10:30 pm on 29 Dec and 8 am on 30 Dec an unknown suspect(s) broke a window to gain entry into his home and stole a 20 gauge Ithaca shotgun, a .22 caliber Marlin shotgun, a Mossburg .410 shotgun, a JC Higgins .410 shotgun and a Lexer .22 caliber rifle. This case remains under investigation (586).

On 30 Dec 03 a Washington County man reported receiving harassing phone calls from a woman whom he knows. This case remains under investigation (586).

On 30 Dec 03 Randall H. Powell, age 62, 488 Beach Drive, Belpre, reported an unknown suspect(s) stole his Direct TV satellite dish from his lot at Shore Line Camp Site Lot 2 between 1 Nov and 30 Dec of this year. This case remains under investigation (490).

The following individuals were processed into the Washington County Jail:

Buddy Allen Miller, age 29, Post Office Box 83, Lower Salem, OH, for Domestic Violence, a misdemeanor charge. Miller was arrested on State Route 60 and State Route 821 by Deputy Sheriff Canavan of the Washington County Sheriff’s Office and processed into the Washington County Jail on 30 Dec 03 at 12:45 AM.

Megan A. Jackson, age 18, 6939 Columbian Avenue, Columbus, OH, for no operator’s license, speeding and no seatbelt, all misdemeanors. Jackson was arrested while northbound on Interstate 77 by Trooper Hoberg of the Ohio State Highway Patrol and processed into the Washington County Jail on 30 Dec 03 at 6:40 pm.

Kevin W. Reynolds, age 33, 1187 Township Road 184, Lowell, for a probation violation and nonsupport of dependants, both felonies. Reynolds was picked up in Niagara County, New York by Deputy Sheriff Doak of the Washington County Sheriff’s Office and processed into the Washington County Jail on 30 Dec 03 at 7:45 pm.
