On 26 Dec 03 David P. Thomas Jr., age 36, 49535 State Route 7, New Matamoras, reported after paying a $4,500 down payment for siding and window work in June, the contractor has failed to complete the work. The contractor attempted to issue a refund however the check was returned for non-sufficient funds. This case remains under investigation (1071).

On 26 Dec 03 an employee of Werner Trucking, headquartered in Omaha, Nebraska, reported between 25 Dec at 4 pm and 26 Dec at 7:30 am an unidentified suspect(s) broke a window and entered his semi truck while parked near the 22 mile marker on State Route 60.
Upon further examination an adjacent truck also showed signs of forced entry, yet nothing appeared to be missing. This case remains under investigation (500) (597).

On 26 Dec 03 while on patrol westbound on US 50 near Farson Street in Belpre, Deputy Sheriff Kapple observed an eastbound four wheel drive vehicle drive through the median and make a u-turn into the westbound lane. Upon making contact with the driver David A. Hill, age 43, 11310 Orange Blossom Trail, Orlando, FL, Mr. Hill informed Deputy Kapple he had an unloaded .270 caliber rifle in the vehicle. Deputy Kapple found the firearm and found that, in fact, it had a shell in the chamber and a full magazine. Mr. Hill was issued a citation for driving through the median, arrested for carrying a concealed weapon, in violation of Section 2923.12 of the Ohio Revised Code and transported to the Washington County Jail.

On 26 Dec 03 Christopher Ladeaux, age 32, 1230 Warren Chapel Road, Fleming, reported on three separate occasions since 22 Dec an unknown suspect(s) removed lighted candy cane decorations from the ground finally causing them to be inoperable. This case remains under investigation (1090).

On 26 Dec 03 Mark W. Heitman, age 36, 454 James Road, Fleming, reported an unknown suspect(s) damaged the sides of his Nissan Maxima while parked at the Fleming Mall on State Route 550 in Fleming. This case remains under investigation (1090).

The following individuals were processed into the Washington County Jail:

Jeffrey Alan Null, age 609 Elm Street, Belpre OH, for Disorderly Conduct (Intoxication). Null was arrested at his residence by Patrolman Morris of the Belpre Police Department. Null was processed into the County Jail on 26 Dec 03 at 5:00 AM.

David Allen Hill, age 43, 11310 Orange Blossom Trail Orlando FL, for Carrying a Concealed Weapon, a felony charge, and Driving on a Divided Highway, a misdemeanor charge. Hill was arrested on Farson Street in Belpre by Deputy Sheriff Kapple of the Washington County Sheriff’s Office. Hill was processed into the County Jail on 26 Dec 03 at 9:25 AM.

Adam Cole Bennett, age 25, 290 Hamrick Lane Belpre OH, for Failure to Appear. Bennett turned himself into the Washington County Sheriff’s Office and was arrested by Deputy Sheriff Sears.
Bennett was processed into the Washington County Jail on 26 Dec 03 at 12:30 PM.

William Eugene O’Brien, age 39, Route 2 Box 267A, Marietta OH, for Aggravated Menacing, a misdemeanor charge. O’Brien was arrested in Warner by Deputy Sheriff Sears of the Washington County Sheriff’s Office and processed into the County Jail on 26 Dec 03 at 2:15 PM.
