On 22 Dec 03 James F. Church, age 57, 1546 Rock Point Road, Fleming, reported while in his garage changing the distributor cap and siphoning gas from his truck, the truck caught fire subsequently causing his garage to become engulfed in flames. Mr. Church and a friend successfully extricated the truck from the garage using a tractor, however the garage, two Honda ATV’s, and $3,000 worth of tools were lost. The Barlow Volunteer Fire Department extinguished the blaze limiting damage to the garage and a neighbor’s vinyl siding. No injuries were reported (490).

On 22 Dec 03 Gary P. Ganguillet, age 57, Route 5 Box 425, Parkersburg, WV, reported on two separate occasions between 18 Dec and 22 Dec 03, an unidentified suspect(s) attempted to pry open a Pepsi and a Coke machine at his business at 1094A Clement Avenue, Belpre. This case remains under investigation (490).

On 22 Dec 03 Deputy Sheriffs Norman and Gherke responded to the report of the death of an elderly Cutler resident. The victim was transported to Montgomery County for an autopsy; however the death appears to be of natural causes.

The following individuals were processed into the Washington County Jail:

Angela L. Striblin, age 44, 707 Elm Street, Belpre, for contempt of court, a misdemeanor. Lamora was arrested at her residence by Deputy Sheriff Sears of the Washington County Sheriff’s Office and processed into the Washington County Jail on 22 Dec 03 at 9:38 am.

Ronald B. Sheridan, age 32, 108 Seventh Street, Marietta, for assault, a misdemeanor. Sheridan turned himself in to Lieutenant Wilson of the Washington County Sheriff’s Office and processed into the Washington County Jail on 22 Dec 03 at 11:35 am.

Kevin P. Miller, age 31, Route 8 Box 293A County Road 20, Marietta, for kidnapping and assault, both felonies. Miller was arrested on County Road 20 by Patrolman Newell of the Marietta City Police Department and processed into the Washington County Jail on 22 Dec 03 at 3:45 pm.
