On 20 Dec 03 while on patrol on State Route
339 in Veto, Deputy Sheriff Jenkins observed a suspicious vehicle
in the parking lot of the Presbyterian Church at the intersection
of State Route 339 and County Road 3 in Dunham Township. Deputy
Jenkins approached the car, the engine of which was running,
and made contact with the driver Jason L. Fox, age 21, 9952
State Route 550, Vincent.
Immediately Deputy Jenkins noticed an odor of alcohol and requested
Mr. Fox take a field sobriety test which he subsequently failed.
Mr. Fox was arrested for OMVI and transported to the Washington
County Jail then released on a personal recognizance bond.
On 20 Dec 03 Angela D. Carpenter, age 36, 207 Coal Run Road,
Reno, reported she was assaulted by her boyfriend Ronald B.
Sheridan, age 32, 108 North Seventh Street, Marietta.
Ms. Carpenter was awakened by Mr. Sheridan hitting her in the
head with a closed fist.
The confrontation migrated to the living room where Mr. Sheridan
continued to strike her causing her to fall back into a window
and lacerating her arm.
Based on the documentation of Ms. Carpenter’s injuries,
Deputy Sheriff Winstanley filed an affidavit requesting a summons
for Mr. Sheridan for domestic violence, a violation of section
2903.13(A) of the Ohio Revised Code.
On 20 Dec 03 Deputy Sheriff Eddy investigated and hit and run
accident near 500 Masonic Park Road, Marietta.
A Pontiac Bonneville owned by Derek S. Smith, 175 North Hills
Drive, Parkersburg, WV, was parked facing eastbound on the
side
of the road near the westbound lane when an unidentified westbound
vehicle side-swiped Mr. Smith’s car causing moderate
damage.
This incident remains under investigation.
The following individuals
were processed into the Washington County Jail:
Jason Lee Fox, age 21, 9952 State Route 550, Vincent,
OH, for OMVI, a misdemeanor. Fox was arrested on State Route
339 by Deputy Sheriff Jenkins of the Washington County Sheriff’s
Office and processed into the Washington County Jail on 20 Dec
03 at 5:15 AM.
Christopher Lee Hawkins, age 42, 1266 Carol Drive, Kent, OH,
for violation of a protection order, a misdemeanor.
Hawkins was arrested in Marietta by Patrolman Walters of the
Marietta City Police Department and processed into the Washington
County Jail on 20 Dec 03 at 9:37 AM.
Isaac Wayne Ayers, age 29, Post Office Box 4, Whipple, OH,
for passing bad checks, a misdemeanor.
Ayers was arrested on Muskingum Drive by Sergeant Hoberg of
the Ohio State Highway Patrol and processed into the Washington
County Jail on 20 Dec 03 at 9:09 PM.
